Charged $1 then full year when only wanted free trial... sites not kid friendly and its alot of pointless singing my kid couldn't stay interested
I signed up for a subscription last month to receive an incentive. I cancelled the 1 month free trial maybe 3 or 4 days after it started. Today I saw a charge on my credit card for $7.95 and because it is pending, my credit card company cannot dispute it. I have to wait for it to clear. I also contacted Amazon Customer Service. They were supposed to call me back at 7 am this morning and they have yet to do so. The charge showed up as "amazon pay." I had no idea what it was, so I had to log into amazon pay to figure it out. I don't understand why they cannot promptly return calls. I actually did receive a cancellation confirmation email from ABCmouse. Unfortunately, I did not keep it. I trusted them because I have used their site before and successfully canceled my account, so I assumed their wouldn't be any problems. I would give ABCmouse zero stars if I could. But I had to give a rating, or else I wouldn't be able to submit my review. Tbh they deserve negative ratings (-5).
Somehow, fraudulently, I was subscribed this website I have never heard of. A charge showed up this month on my credit card, what is this?. I have been calling their 800 number to get my money refunded, or at least get the fraudulent subscription cancelled. It seems impossible to reach any customer service representative, they never answer the line, on hold for well over 30 minutes. They sent me a generic email reply that did not address my issue when I reached out via customer support link. This is #@$*%#! They are Scammers! DO NOT SUBSCRIBE! SHYSTERS!
They take your credit card information and email contact information when you sign up. Then at the end of the year subscription, without any notification (although they have your contact info in hand), you are socked with an automatic renewal charge to your bank account. They do not inform you up front when you sign up that this will happen. After the charge has posted to your bank account and you go to unsubscribe you see the warning on their website that no refund is possible. SCAM SCAM SCAM FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD! Do not waste your hard earned money on this low life business. The customer deserves better! My only recourse was to call the bank and dispute the charge. PUT THE PARASITES OUT OF BUSINESS!
MY SON ONLY 1 YRS OLD! I TRIED THE TRIAL AND WAS SUPPOSE TO GET 3 FREE BOOKS! NEVER DID, NOW THEY KEEP CHARGING MY CARD AND WILL NOT LET ME CANCEL MY ACCOUNT OR THEY WONT ANSWER THEIR PHONE OR EMAILS!
Don't waste your time and money on this crap. My friend used to work there. She told me it was a horrible working environment and terrible human resource management team. They only hire the stupid people to make this crap to poison our kids. It crashed all the time and stealing my money after cancellation. There are better free website out there. My kids doesn't like this ABC Mouse crap! Google their reviews. All bad!
I was sent a free trial email from ABC mouse.com so I decided to see if my 2 year old would try it. He didn't like at all so I cancelled right away before I forgot and then charged. Somehow I get a charge of 7.95 on my visa. And when I called and inquired about it they claimed that since I had had an old account years ago my email linked to that account and it signed me up for a month subscription. Wth! The representative tells me you should have used a different email to get the free trial. I have one email not many emails- is she serious? I should, have known better than dealing with this company again. I had trouble cancelling years ago with my older child. I guess I didn't learn my lesson. ABCmouse has the worst customer service ever. For linking to my old acct for less than a minute I was charged money.
I was able to try ABC Mouse for my 4 yr old daughter via what was supposed to be a free subscription via Groupon. I had the exp date and would decide at that point if I wanted to continue service. Well I noticed when I received a statement from my credit card that I had been billed 7.95 for one month of service. It is poor on their part that they did not state you actually needed to cancel prior to the supposed exp date. Why give a date if your not going to adhere to it. Then there isn't anyone to speak to. When it was said and done I had to contact my credit card company... never use your debit card for companies like this... they had to reverse to charges why ABC Mouse states we don't give refunds. My daughter unfortunalty liked this site but with the poor attitude behind the emails they will not have me as a customer again.
We signed up and they billed my credit card 3 additional times. Ove course when you call to speak to a billing representative, you on hold and no one answers. Also called back and submitted a call back number, and they did not return my call. Complete scam, don't fall for it.
Well i did sign up with abc mouse just to try it out for my 2 children, they didnt use it much so i decided to cancel it and i call the number provided *******331 and they tell me they dont refund i was not aware that i would be billed when i signed up they billed me $1.00 and a month later $7.95 thats not good customer service and in no way did they try to work with me they gladly take your moneu whether you were satisfied with their site or not. Well thank you abc mouse you really did not help my kids with your "Great" site
Best regards, former customer
They refused to stop charging my credit card. After 10 months, I finally spoke to an actual person who claimed they kept billing because I had two subscriptions. I never had two subscriptions. Still refused to stop and I had to put a stop payment and file a fraud claim with my bank. PLEASE BEWARE!
This website was hard to navigate when I was trying to order a 2 year subscription. I accidentally purchased the $7.95/ month instead. I then found what I wanted and sent them an email telling them to cancel the $7.95/mo program. I would have preferred to talk to someone but the number they give you on the website doesn't get you to a representative to talk to. In fact, I ended up connected to a scammer company that told me my computer had been hacked ( that was another issue altogether).
I kept going back and forth with ABC mouse customer service which is only through email. They never resolved my issue so I had to go to my credit card company to settle it. They said they would cancel the program I had requested. They didn't and continued to charge me $7.95/month. I gave a month or so due to billing cycles. Still, they continued to charge me. Finally, I called my credit card company again. This time they put me directly through to a person to talk to at ABC mouse. That person acted annoyed, and said all he could do was refund the last 3 months of the charge from my account. Normally, they can't refund. WHAT! If they had acted initially, I wouldn't have been out of the the charges the 3 months prior to that.
I have never dealt with such a poor customer service in my life.
My advice is, DON'T MAKE A MISTAKE WHEN ORDERING!
I called to dispute charges, they said they couldn't locate the account associated with my card, and if they couldn't do that, they couldn't stop charging me. I reiterated that this was unauthorized by me and they said that my only recourse was to cancel my card completely. I'm waiting to hear back from a manager (Sarah or Michaela) who will hopefully be more helpful than Rafael, who was very rude and cursed on the phone with me. Sounds like a great site for kids, right?
If you want to cancel the membership you need to do it through iTunes.

This website seems like a scam. The pages are not easy to use and I can't see any child actually learning how to read on it. My daughter wanted me to get it for my son so we tried it. Big mistake. It was difficult to cut ties with abcmouse.com. Then we began to get bombarded with email from abcmouse.com to sign up. After trying to unsubcribe, we got even more and then began to get 100 spam emails per day from various spam generators. YUCK. Abcmouse.com acknowledged it does provide your email to several companies. Why on earth they would do this-I would never never never recommend it to others or go back.
I signed up for a free trial of ABC mouse. I don't doubt that it would be hard to cancel this subscription based service before the free trial is over. I would have to set a date on my calendar and made sure I clicked on the right buttons and called/emailed the company so as not to be charged.
However, I am truly surprised that I do not want to cancel after my trial ends. This is a wonderful learning tool that my four year old is really enjoying. He is learning his alphabet, engaged, and happy. He is learning to budget! The site makes the learner do the learning activities to earn points to buy things for your child's avatar.
There are a ton of worksheets to print out, songs, games, and activities. I know that I can find a lot of this for free online, but as a busy working mother with multiple children, I am happy to find this information all on one site. The quality is very good. It is a wonderful supplement to my son's play based co-op preschool. If I were to buy a workbook from Barnes & Noble, one workbook would equal the cost of this program per month. However, there are so many things to do on this site that the value is much more than that. It is now going to be my go-to-site for supplemental "quiet-time" activities for my son. This is so much better than watching television or youtube.
This does not replace engaging your children or reading with them, it just supplements it.
Cheers!
They don't respond to email requests to reset the subscription. The only way of contact is emails that they themselves can not read. Money stealing website
Why is it so damn difficult to cancel now that they have my info. They are indeed scam there is no icon to do $#*!. And I am the wrong one to try and play with my money so they better cancel that $#*! and don't let me see any charges taken out my account. Because it is freaking ridiculous trying to cancel a million times and it doesn't work. Somebody need to fix that $#*!. Thank you
I'll be honest, I can't speak to the actual educational value of ABCMouse.com. I signed up for ABCMouse.com through a reward program in order to get points, with the intention of canceling the trial before being charged. Unfortunately, what should have been a quick 5 minute cancellation process turned into 3 hours of digging and researching, because the site is rigged in such a way that cancellation is almost impossible. Based on the experiences of myself and hundreds of others, I can only conclude that this is intentional, and that ABCMouse is a fraudulent site.
First of all, it is extremely difficult to find the subscription cancellation option on the website. If you finally do, however, the site "glitches" when you try to submit the cancellation, kicking you back to the home screen. I did this about 15 times before giving up. While the account process requests your email address, there was absolutely no correspondence about charges, account registration, or account cancellation. I never received any indication that my account had actually been cancelled, leading me to keep screenshots of me canceling my account in case I had to refute recurring charges. Customer service was entirely nonexistent, as I have yet to receive any response to my emails (several months later), and all calls using the given phone number failed to connect.
Fortunately, I was never charged for the subscription after my trial ended, but I have read far too many horror stories of people who were not so lucky. Even if ABCMouse is legitimately educational, the inner workings of the business side are incredibly shady, and it's better to stay away completely. There are plenty of other educational options out there.
Answer: Don't do it. Find another learning app. The app it self is glitchy always kicking us out in the middle of stuff and it's not a free trial. They will charge you over and over and over! HUGE SCAM
Answer: File complaints against them with both your state's Attorney General's Office and the BBB.
Answer: When a corporation appears not to be acting in good faith, I look up the name and address of the corporation's registered agent on file with my state's Secretary of State/State Corporation Commission and send a USPS Certified Letter w/return receipt requested to the corporation in care of the Registered Agent with a detailed explanation of the problem and all that I have done thus far in my attempt to remedy the situation. A CC of the letter to the State's Attorney General may also be beneficial.
