From what I understand, I can get the FREE versions by linking it to a social media forum. Question is: Will the info on the invite i.e. names,venue address, contact info be displayed publicly?

Yes it's possible if a digital invitation's URL is posted on a public forum.

However you may prevent this by sending with private message only or setting password to protect your invitation content.
