I have used VitalChek twice this year to retrieve copies of my child's birth certificate and my marriage certificate. In both instances, I was easily able to order the documents online, pay the charges, and receive my documents within a couple of weeks (the birth certificates arrived in 5 days). They were exactly what I ordered and were shipped with care so these important documents did not wind up in lost packages somewhere. I would definitely use this service again.

Same day I sent them email asking them to cancel the order. 4. A week later they charged my card. Is it all by an innocent mistake or calculated to steal money? I have asked them twice already to refund me, and delete my records. No response yet, I am expecting they will charge my card again.

I moved and needed lost birth, marriage and divorce records to obtain a new driver's license for the state. I was immediately overwhelmed by the thought of standing in long lines, crowded rooms and waiting weeks for the certificates to arrive and as a handicapped person the task was daunting.

02/22/2024 Received email from Vitalchek stating my husband's Birth Certificate we ordered had been mailed and should arrive by 02/26/2024. It never arrived, I cannot get response to emails, I cannot get a person on the phone (always on hold) and when I just contacted them via chat, the rep said we would need to order another and he suggested UPS instead of mail. No refunds, no assistance, just told reorder and pay again and pay MORE for UPS shipping. NO THANKS!

They do NOT honor customer's orders. If customer's do not receive their documents, they are just told to reorder and pay again. No refunds, No respect.

The website was very user friendly the process was easy to check out the only thing I didn't like was the extra fees that I had to pay just to get the birth certificate which was only about $12 I ended up paying almost $30 total but I got it also in a very timely manner so ultimately I got what I needed and got it fast so therefore it's a five star thank you

One of the worst businesses. First, they charged me a finders fee for an order that was never placed, and after I finally placed an order it's been SEVEN weeks for it to be processed. Even worse as they said it could take up to 9 weeks just for processing. What is the point of paying all that money for them to spend 2 and a half months doing nothing? Horrible company with horrible customer support.

My experience was excellent. Applied for a copy of my Birth Certificate form a county website but somehow got transferred to the state records website and they linked me to Vitalchek.
After the first hiccup, asking me for another copy of my ID, I started reading the reviews and worrying if I'd ever get what I asked for and paid for. I figured if the state trusts them to do this, I'll just go with it.
I uploaded a picture of my ID and within 2 days I had the copies in my hand. I couldn't ask for better service!

In early January 2024 I ordered a copy of my NY marriage certificate thru vital records online which turned out to be Vitalchek and paid extra for express -- total of $100. A few weeks later (after refund period) I receive a letter from VitalChek that my request was sent to NY vitals department I would receive it between July - August. When I contacted them on website I was told that the express money was to send it fedx to the department. All of this info was not available when I ordered it online. Today I received a letter (4/24/24) a reminder of what I ordered, etc.
Totally a scam in my eyes. If I would have know the time it would take, I NEVER would have ordered. I needed it quickly for SS administration.

Often times what happens is that the customer initiates an order through one of these third party services and provides them all the vital application information and pays a large fee. When the customer agrees to their terms and conditions, they essentially give the third-party company permission to act as their representative. Since the third-party company has all your information they then turn around and initiate an order in the VitalChek system as if they were you. From our end, it appears as if you, the actual customer, is entering the order and we charge you accordingly. Unfortunately, we have no way to detect that another company is involved. I tried this service not knowing if it was going to be fast and secure. I filled in the form and decided to pay a little extra for UPS delivery. I received my birth certificate within a week. Very happy with the service.

Title says it all. Poor customer service. You'll wait for at least an hour on hold before anyone picks up. After sometime their own site wouldn't show me the progress of my order… buyer beware.
