Another website (http://www.ratingplease.com/reviews/www.vbridal.com) claims "This site [Vbridal] is sued in violation of federal trademark and copyright laws by American Bridal and Prom Industry Association, Inc. (Associated with Case No. 1:16-cv-23)." So I assume they are cheap because the business is based in China, where US copyright doesn't always hold water, so Vbridal can recreate a dress design and won't mark it up since they don't have any designer fees to cover. However, getting a cheap dress from a somewhat questionable company means you may need to put up with some problems. I ordered a dress from here, and it was/is beautiful! But the buttons were stained, there was red fabric stuck inside the bodice (which I had to seam rip and remove, then hem up), a touch of what looked like a drop of blood on the lace (presumably a seamstress pricked a finger on a needle...?), and a missing section of lace on the edge of the train. While most of these I could fix myself, I can't fix the missing lace. Be warned that they have a fake/unusable phone number for customer service on their website, but they are very good about responding to email.
Not sure where they are manufactured, but they are shipped from Hong Kong. Return policy is that you can return (supposedly for full refund) within 7 days of receipt if it is defective, etc. But, if you want to return it, beware that customer service can be pretty dodgy about this. They may want you to pay for the shipping cost.
The dress I ordered was exactly the same as the picture... as far as I can tell. Keep in mind that I ordered the same color as was shown in the dress picture, which means there wasn't any confusion over what the dress should look like. Also, I should point out that the resolution on their photos is kept fairly low, with no zoom in capabilities, so sometimes when you order a lace dress, it is harder to tell if the lace is the same. However, the price point is fantastic, the shipping is SUPER fast (considering it comes from Hong Kong), and customer service is really good about responding to email. The downsides are: for the cheap price, their quality control stinks (I posted pictures you can check out, showing the dirty buttons, red fabric stuck in the dress, etc.) and to get them to cover the full cost of a fix, you'll probably have to post about it online (like I am here). The customer service phone number on their website is fake, and when asked about it SEVERAL times, they always ignore the question. So. At the price, this may be worth the gamble to you. I love my dress from here, but also know that i may have gotten lucky. Remember to pay for the custom fit fee, and keep in mind that MOST wedding dresses will need a petticoat to get that "floof" factor. They are good about helping you pick out an appropriate petticoat to match the dress you are ordering.
