You are supposed to receive an in-depth review detailing the condition, condirmation that the item is authentic or a reproduction, the purpose/function of the item, the history, info on the maker/company, the likely auction sale price, the recommended insurance quote. Recently this service leaves out the price quotes, gives you a glossed over, highly inaccurate description of the item, and a copy/pasted blurb on the era it came from. Often you will receive an appraisal that reads exactly like 'This is an antique silver butter knife with a MOP handle.', like the owner is blind and dumb.
