I can't pass the 'basic qualification test' because I'm English and not American. I asked and said when I pass can I transcribe English and they said yes, but first you have to pass the basic qualification test, which is annoying because they are basically talking gibberish to me. So I have to pass an American test to transcribe English with an English accent?

The vast majority of our files contain speech in the English language. I apologize for any confusion regarding UK vs. US English. Many of our jobs contain speakers with US accents, however we do regularly receive files with UK speakers as well as non-native English speakers with various accents.
The Basic Qualification test is intended to be a fair representation of some of our regular jobs. The purpose is to test for basic aural comprehension and transcription skills with speech and text in the English language. It is not intended to be tricky. It contains audible speech spoken by US-based individuals, and contains material that is common knowledge or easily found publicly by searching the internet.
