Answer:

I attempted to log back in after deleting my account because roomster customer service told me to follow instructions to delete account... The AP created a new account for me... It was not smart enough to link my older account / reactivate old account. Their technical bugs are many and I do not recommend this site.

I noticed a lot of people complaining on the forum about being automatically charged when they intended a 3-day subscription - and a response from your people saying they should have known, it's in the fine print, blah blah. that may be true, but why so defensive? clearly there's a communication problem, otherwise why would all these people be complaining about the same thing? further, another complaint is about questionable people who seem fake messaging people, like young, scantily-clad women sending message to 59-year-old men like me. when people complained, again, you argued with them and said it wasn't your fault. is that really your business model? what happened to customer is always right - or at least deserving of respect? Actually Robin, its not Just in the fine print. Roomster makes sure that you fully understand that there is a renewal, how & when to cancel it, and sends out reminders with how & when to cancel to avoid any future payments. This site "sitejabber" and all the other sites like this are designed to post and make complaints, rightly or wrongly. Complaints are never verified, and can be posted by anyone. We do have a money back Guarantee in our terms of use and issues all refunds in a timely manor, but no one who post a complaint every mentions that.

Site tech is old and this is not a possibility... You can't search only browse... Anyone telling you otherwise is a con artist and should not be trusted.

We did not send you this, and Roomster strongly suggest that you never send anybody any money that you have never met for an apartment that you have never seen. This seems like good common sense to classify this email as a scam

Hey guys, i have terrible experience with roomster. when i was signing up they system went down and it told me that something went wrong and to try again later. i tried again later and suddenly i was charged 2x for every single month of my subscription. i contacted the customer support - and guess what - the only reply i get is that it was authorised and they will keep double the payment for the one service they provided. they keep repeating to read a receipt of payment, which includes only one payment. i keep telling there they took from my bank 2 payments and its over and over. they refuse to check their billing to see that they received double the amount. they give me an impression they are not helpful on purpose for me to give up as the replies sound really robotic. to me it looks like a scam. anyone had similar experience? Yes, we looked into the matter and it seems you created two subscriptions using two different paypal accounts, which we have records of. As our commitment to customer service we researched the issue and issued full refunds of all charges. Best, Roomster.
