Why are negative reviews of doctors regularly deleted and usually replaced by exemplary reviews that seem to be written by or for the doctors?

I found out that doctors can pay the ratemds.com website to have negative reviews removed and write their own rave reviews about themselves. True??

Answer:
Yes, it is true. They don't actually even have to pay--they can just send an email and ask. And thy can review themselves because no one needs to validate who they are or set up an account.

is it true what people post that ratemd is crooked and rigged? i have a bunch of negative reviews to post but if you're a bunch of crooks then ratemd should not exist in first place. i'll create my own site and post elsewhere.

I posted a very negative review of a plastic surgeon on RateMDs.com on July 29, 2014. I must remove that negative review as a condition of a settlement of a lawsuit. I have requested that the review be removed, but it still appears on the site and I get no response from RateMDs.com. Someone flagged the review, and flagging a review for being libelous is one of two ways of having a review removed. Since I cannot flag the review I have no way to remove the review for being libelous. I may face further litigation for libel if the review isn't removed. How can I get the review removed to avoid another lawsuit?
