Hi, if you order items from South Africa that reach over R500 do you have to pay customs on that?

If you are from South Africa, check the customs T&C's. As a private individual you can get away with orders not exceeding R500 at a time, excluding postage and handling fees (R500 Total cost of items ordered). You then need to pay postage/courier and courier handling fees, plus minus R149. On a R500 order, I am referring to items of clothing, not sure about other products. You can only order 3 times per year without a Traders Number, which you would need to apply for from SARS/CUSTOMS should you wish to order more frequently, then T&C's apply.
I trust this helps you.

Yes. Your order has to be over R400 and below R500... then there will be no custom charged
