Stone colors can vary base on type of stone, for example, a Genuine Blue Sapphire which represents the month of September is a little darker than a Simulated Blue Sapphire. Simulated stones tend to have vivid colors to them, as impurities are not present in a lab and do not modify the clarity or color of the stone. I will suggest for you to select a Genuine stone for the month of September if you wished for a darker color. For the month of August, the birthstone is Peridot which is a lovely light green and for June's birthstone, Alexandrite or Smokey Quartz is the stone used which is a brown "smoky" color.
