Not just freelancer.in, you should not share your card details with any one.
Whenever you are making a payment for some service, ensure that it's online reviews are good and the checkout payment gateway is well known and uses a secure connection. You never know how freelancer.in is storing your card details; some hackers might be able to get hands on them very easily!
