In general credit card companies in US don't want to take any risk and this is the reason they are so rigorous on this matter, as there's much more risk associated with online orders than local orders taken in person in stores when people swipe the card physically in a cc machine, they will always call you to see if the order is legitimate, which is anoying, besides the fact that the order is coming from overseas also represents a big risk for them and is better and easier report as a fraud to be able to receive the insurance - even though they know it is not.
But if you are sure of what you are doing you can use your debit card as cc, or even better, your paypal account, so if there's any problem you can discuss with your local bank easily or paypal (American companies), not with a company in Australia sending the money to Turkey.
I think the main problem with Freelancer is that they protect their main customer and its polices, the robotized customer service is really anoying and slow to answer, usually using nicknames in order to cover the employees as well, so you need to be very patient and smart to avoid losses, which is really time consuming. At the end I don't know if it worth.

I wouldn't say they take your money without any info. Obviously they charge some money as their fees but it's a legit site. Having said that it's not easy to find a good and real deal there.

Although I'm also not a satisfied client but can't say wrong thing...

Think about it: If your credit card company thinks it's a fraud, it's because they're doing something that sets off a red flag for them. They deal with billions of transactions each year, and have a good idea of what to avoid out there. The fact that the company does things that banks and credit card companies flag as suspicious speaks volumes about the company. Yes?

Totally agree. The quicker you're away from them the better for you. Under no circumstances allow them near your credit card. Tell your credit card to never, under any circumstances, allow them to take any money from your account. If they can't do this then switch cards.

I wouldn't even trust them with my Paypal, let alone my credit card info! Get off that site ASAP -- the reviews here speak for themselves.

Just stop using this site. Reviews is almost a thousand. If that doesn't convince you then i don't know what will, waiting for a tragic moment?

Do not give Freelancer your financial information. They will take advantage of it and post fraudulent fees. Many people have had this experience.

Stay away mate. Never allow them to take money... If you ignore then you are forced to face the fraudulent company taking money for no reason..

Save your credit card, they may take money from your card, for some no real reason. In my case Freelancer took my money, saying they suddenly wwant to refund the amount.
