HI, I was awarded a project worth $833, which i accepted. Freelancer deducted $83 from my account buy my employer is not responding to me. Is there anyway I can cancel my awarded project and get my money back?

Beware, at Freelancer.com you will come across fake buyers as well as scam freelancers who will try to trick you. I used it for 10 years and now dumped this site to dustbin because every time I post or bid on a project I get scammers.

Hi, Saba. I had a very similar experience with Freelancer. I was awarded a $600 job, and Freelancer promptly took $60 from my account, but within hours of accepting the job, the employer disappeared along with the job. When I contacted Freelancer Customer Support, they informed me that the outcome of a job is between the worker and the employer and that they didn't give refunds even though I never earned a dime from that job.
I raised hell with the support person, and they finally said that they would give me a refund in the form of Freelancer credit which could only be spent on their site. I kept pressing the issue until they agreed to actually refund my PayPal account, but, so far, it hasn't gone through yet.
My advice would be to make sure the job has really been cancelled. If that's the case, do what I did and keep the pressure on the support staff. Maybe you'll get lucky.
