Freelancer simply ban my account and took my money, because one of the guys who gave me a project did not complete his verification. Is this even legal? Can they do something like this?

No. And freelancer will do anything they can get away with to keep your money. It is not a legitimate business. They operate on the fringes of law.

I have same situation right now. It seems there is nothing to do. Helpdesk operator told me, that they will block my funds till my employer solve their account issues. As my employer is not responding, it seems they will be blocking my money forever! As explanation they gave me link to their terms & conditions page.

Hi, I worked on here for 2 years with over 250 reviews. They will take your money any way they can and they will also make up reasons. Verification is the #1 reason, they will mess with you and they don't care, they only care about your money and will not hesitate to ban your account. This is what happened to me.
