Exactly the same experience -- we were in a hurry to unlock our iphone prior to a european trip, a bunch of useless links gleaned from a web serach that i could have have done myself. turns out the iphone is currently unlockable because of the modem software level -- bu they have so far refused to refund. it seems to me that both google pay and paypal should refuse to service this site.
