I found the site very lacking in it's responses in comparison to Goggle and no longer use it. Even Yahoo is better.

It sounds to me like your browser isn't saving cookies, which are necessary for remembering any settings for sites you visit. If you happen to be running the browser in "private mode" then it will definitely NOT remember your settings for DuckDuckGo.com. If this happens when you run the browser normally though, check your browser's preferences/settings (under "privacy" or "content" or similar) and make sure it saves cookies until they expire (as opposed to blocking cookies or deleting them when the browser closes). The caveat though is that many sites / advertising networks use cookies to spy on you. So alternately you could set it to block all cookies except for duckduckgo.com. The specific steps you take always depend on which browser you use, but the underlying principles apply to all.
