Why do bidders overbid on gift cards. Bidding $70 on a $10 gift card?

That happens often due to rapid fire new bidders who stomp bids raising the price. You can cut your loses at anytime.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for your question. On occasion we run special deals for "free" auction wins. During these auctions, the bidding proceeds as usual but the final auction winner will not be required to pay the final sales price. Instead the winner receives the product free of charge and only pays a $0.01 processing fee. Since the winner only has to pay a penny instead of the normal sales price, it is not unusual to see people bid over the price.
I hope this helps. Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns and we'll be happy to help!
