I sent in my fully functioning 2019 touchscreen Lenovo laptop because my son dropped it and broke the hinge, and the end result was that I'm suddenly notified that they are keeping my laptop because it isn't repairable so here's $349, because we are keeping your laptop and you can't have it back. I called, talked to three people and was told that the part that made my brand new in 2019 laptop 'not repairable' must be too old for the service dept. to acquire, when I asked what part it was, I was told it was a part needed to fix the keyboard which was fully functioning when I sent it it, zero damage. After promising me they would 'hold my laptop' they then told me whoops, apparently in the five minutes since we told you we would keep it safe, the service dept 'salvaged' it because that one part that was completely unnecessary for repair apparently doesn't exist on the planet any more. In other words, what you mail to them will cease to be your property and if it's a better deal for them to keep something nice rather than fix it, well, you were the chump who sent your property to them in the first place.
