Is Asurion a scam or a legit company?

If I could give Zero Stars I would. I filed 2 claims for iPads that had screens broken by the kids with ASURION HOME PLUS. Claim was denied for "Intentional Damage" and "Abuse of Product"! DO NOT BUY! You would be better off putting money in a savings account or adding your devices to your house insurance.

They are a company with scam tendencies. It's almost like they're a front.

Scam, scam, scam. My claim to replace an S-21 was "accepted" 3/31/21. Here it is 4/20 and I've gotten no-reply emails ever since saying my replacement is on backorder. I get why those emails are no-reply. You can guess where I'd tell them to shove it if I could reply. I saw the same phone available the next day on Amazon for one-day delivery, and it has been ever since. I got insurance so I wouldn't have to be without a phone if I lost mine. S—C—A—M.

Scam in my opinion. Cracked screen repair was needed. Over the course of two weeks, they rescheduled my appointment twice, and the second time they told me the tech was exposed to COVID19. They said due to this, they have no one else they could call out and I could either schedule two weeks out, pay 120 for a replacement phone, or drive an hour away to get it fixed. Do your research on the actual cost of phone repairs. 50 bucks a month through Verizon for two years and the one time I need it, they want to make me wait over a month because they don't partner with any other tech repair places? Not worth the money!

In my experience, total scam, complete waste of time, everyone is a complete idiot. Total waste of my money

It seems like a scam operation to me. They take your money for warranties and don't do the repairs.

I feel like I was scammed. It is very aggravating.

DO NOT GET THEIR PHONE INSURANCE. It is not as advertised. They charge you $15 a month for next day phone replacement (you have to pay $125 for this) but the whole process is not simple. YOU WILL CALL THEM EVERYDAY FOR A WEEK. And still not be sure if you will get a replacement. NOT AT ALL 1-2 DAYS.

They say less than $30 for cracked screen repair, but if they see any minor blemishes on the phone - even aesthetic scratches, they will refuse to fix your phone and only charge the $125 replacement which you will have to handle for a whole week.

DO NOT GET THIS SERVICE. Best to buy a phone through amazon, they have free cracked screen repair. Or find other phone insurance. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. I need to change my service.

They are fraudulent. We have spent a lot of money insuring our phones, and when the phone was lost, they are denying our claim.

100% SCAM. They have had to send me three devices because each one has had major issues. The most recent one they sent me stopped working after 6 weeks and they said they are no longer liable for it since it's past a certain amount of time.

After 15 years with at&t I lost a phone. I was happy I had Asurion...
They ended up sending me a refurbished phone with a $200 deductible.

Read up and do not accept Asurion. Find a different company if possible. Asurion has hidden closures which is not upfront where you will probably end up paying more for items than they are worth even though you have been paying monthly insurance premiums.

Promise to provide service but they discriminate when it comes to delivering.

I think company has been sold or different owners. They use to be good. Now there Garbage

They will do their best to take your money but go out of the way to actually pay out unless the deductible is more then the phone is worth. Better of just buying a used phone online then give them a ridiculous amount of money.

On 08/26/2021, Asurion accused the seller of my phone I purchased on Amazon, covered under the Asurion Protection Plan, of selling me an Umidigi S1, according to the IMEI number (they claimed) instead of an Umidigi S3 the protection plan covers, and denied my claim.

My husband used to repair cell phones. We have never had any reason to doubt the model of the phone. S3 is in the Build number in the "about phone" section in the phones settings. We never had any problems with the phone and the phone had always performed as expected.

The phone experienced heat damage to the battery somehow and we decided to get a replacement through our protection plan.
This was my first experience filing a claim ever.

Asurion is not the company to trust, in my personal opinion.

Besides Insurance, they also advertise as an APPLIANCE REPAIR SERVICE- but if you look closely at their website- there are no real reviews. The repair people had NO IDEA what they were doing, came at a time completely different from the 4 hour time window they gave me, and SHOVED AND THREATENED ME in my own home! I was so close to going to the police, but it's not worth the headache and time. DONT USE THEM!

They're a scam. If you'd be paying $10/ a month to them just set up auto transfers with your bank for $10/mo to a savings account and use that to fund any phone repairs.
