I am considering hosting - and I've heard good and bad about Airbnb.  Is there good customer service?  Are there good safety standards?  Do they treat their hosts well?

For your own good - Stay away! There is no Customer Service or Protection what so ever! This is a rip off! I had renters who partied and trashed my place and sustained damages... Called Airbnb asked for advice, they said not to worry and take pictures and give estimates, but then when I provided all the possible suppotive documentions: police report, pictures, estimates for repairs, statements... They declined my claim without any explanation! Not a dime for repairs! The proterction policy they have is a Joke! A sham! It doesnt exist! Beware!
