It depends what is considered by fees in your world. Because spreads are fees to some extent. The broker takes its profits by spreads or commissions, or by both. But in the mixed type spreads should be very, very low, only then it makes sense.

ActivTrades though has the best of both worlds. Its spreads are very low on the one hand, and on the other the broker doesn't charge commissions on trades.

It is possible due to the superior STP execution type. It allows traders to receive the best pricing from the liquidity pool of the broker directly.

Stocks and ETFs trading however, goes with commissions anyways if traded with leverage. Non-leveraged stocks trading implies no commissions and no overnight fees. Which makes non-leveraged stock trading at Activtrades a decent alternative to investing.

Aw snap! I forgot that you asked about currencies! Anyways I think this information will be helpful to traders.
