I have never had any issues with Gettington. Maybe it was the particular items I bought I don't know. I just know that I will miss the products they do offer. But on the bright side, I do shop Country Door and Grandin Road along with Wards and Ginny's to name a few so all will not be lost. Good luck to those who will now be laid off etc...
Update: The company is closing, that's why everyone's accounts are being closed. Why couldn't they just tell people that? I paid my bill down to the very last payment for $68 which will be due Mid-May. I was never late and used the account responsibly, only making another purchase once the last one was paid off and never returned anything. The next thing I know, I receive a notification from Experian stating my Gettington account was closed/settled due to inactivity. I never received any notice at all from the company and my credit score has increased by 53 points this year so they can't even say their annual financial review for me was derogatory. Very bad business practice.

Their shipping prices are crazzzzy expensive, they don’t honor any of their coupon codes and they will close your good standing, low balance, paid on time credit account for no reason.

I opened the account before Christmas 2018, could not find anything on the site suitable for my kids but decided to keep it open as I can still use to send flowers on special occasions. It's been only 8 months since I opened the account, have not used the account once, and found out today they closed my account weeks ago. No notice, no email, no mail, nothing. I called customer service and was given the run around, no one could tell me why my account was closed. Very disappointed.
I have ordered a HP and it last for five or six years. My mother board finally went out. I have order an other HP one month ago. I was disappointed because they send me the wrong color but I seem to like it. My power button doesn't light up anymore and when I go on a site it blanks out in 10 - 15 minutes. So now I will contact them and see what the response will be. Stay Tune.

I opened this account because I needed credit to purchase Christmas presents a few years ago. I made the mistake of ordering a lot of things and shipping is NEVER free with this company. The shipping was almost as much as the actual products I bought. I also found everything I ordered for much lower prices at many other places. I got behind on payments a couple of times and the late fees are outrageous. I also had issues with products not being sent when I was charged and went through hell trying to get problems fixed. My mother in law is still trying to get her Christmas present from 2019. She paid shipping to send something I sent her back, reordered what she wanted and it still has not been sent to her. I am closing out my account and will not buy another thing from them.
My account was closed for no reason without my knowledge. I was getting ready to make an order, but found out that the account was closed without any notification or any phone call. Terrible way to conduct business. Worst of it all, I can't reapply for a credit application through Gettington. This is not the way to treat your valuable customers that have done great business with you in the past. Gettington needs to be investigated on how they conduct business with dealing with their customers going forward.

I hadn't even had this account for a year and they closed it without informing me due to non activity, 6 months of which were during COVID 19 pandemic when I had no extra money to spend! I will NOT reopen this account EVER! Meaning the company lost a potential future customer forever. Their loss...
I received a card from gettington with $500 credit line and a bunch of info stating how it is good for medical, dental, shopping, etc. However, there was nothing on the card to process it. When I called I was told it is only for shopping at Gettington. What crap these people hand you. I cut the card in half and threw it out. Never order a card from this company again.
UPDATE (10/5/2016):
Things have changed a bit in the past few years. Gettington's interest rates and prices have gone up quite a bit, so I've pretty much stopped using them.
I don't think they're a bad store. All the orders I placed were handled well except for a few that were delayed by FedEx SmartPost, which really isn't Gettington's fault. SmartPost delivery always sucks where I live. But with the increases in both pricing and interest, Gettington is just not competitive anymore.
ORIGINAL REVIEW (6/26/13):
I don't have extensive experience with Gettington, but the orders I have placed have been processed promptly and delivered within the time frame promised.
I have only had one occasion to call their customer service department, and it was not because of a problem on their end. Briefly, where I live, we don't have carrier route delivery, so everyone has a PO box. But I ordered an item too big to be delivered to the PO box, and my 911 address (the closest thing we have to "street addresses" here) wouldn't validate in their system, so I had to call them.
The call was answered promptly, and the lady who answered (1) was American, and (2) immediately understood my problem. She entered a manual override for the shipping address and gave me free shipping on the order -- which was quite a bit due to the item's weight -- to compensate me for the slight inconvenience of my having to call them.
So truly, I have to say that I have no complaints about Gettington. Yes, their prices are a bit high (though much lower than, for example, Fingerhut); and yes, their interest is a bit high. But they also take chances with people whose credit is less-than-perfect, which is more than can be said of most retailers nowadays; and they tell you the exact amount your order is going to cost (including financing), based on your payment selection, before you even submit it. That's pretty honest, ethical, and transparent, in my opinion.
And by the way, no, I don't work for Gettington, nor do I have any financial interest in the company.

They have the worse made products and don't stand by their product. If you have a return you have to pay to return and they decide weather it's returnable after u pay for shipping then send it back or throw it away with no credit to your acct. Their customer support is horrible. They don't care about their customers. I gave them one star only because I had to.
I've never had any bad service from Gettington. Paid my bill on time and sometimes make an early payoff. The last thing I bought was a dining table and chairs. It was perfect! The best table I've ever purchased. I hate to see you go Gettington you will be missed in this household.

I received an email for Gettington's black friday/cyber deals. I assumed it was more of the same, but decided to check it out anyway. Lmao! The so called deals were laughable at best. I am just amazed at how a company could charge such outrageous prices. I saw an echo dot 2nd gen on sale for $89.99... what!? The company that makes it doesn't even sell it for that much. In fact amazon has it on sale for $19.99, with an optional monthly payment plan of $5 x4 for those who need. This company will never change, not until the consumer puts them in check.
I've used gettington for years and I watch the company go from great to s**t. When I first started using gettington the prices were great and interest was calculated upfront. The easy pay option was a life saver. I could order as much stuff as I wanted and the easy pay option had me paying $20-$25 a month. That was for the entire order! Now, oh how the mighty have fallen. Overpriced items, outrageous shipping fees and the customer service is trash. I'm not sure if fingerhut owned gettington initially or acquired later, but now they are one in the same. I mean identical! I'm in the process of paying the last few dollars and then the account will be clipped!
I love gettington! They have exactly what I am looking for and reasonable payment arrangements. Their products are of stellar quality also.

When I called to change my email the customer service representative asked for my entire social security number! I told her no way that my life is attached to that number. That's how identities get stolen. She said it's "standard practice and people do it all the time". I asked for her supervisor and was on hold forever so I hung up and called back to speak to someone else who said it's not standard practice and they are supposed to ask for last 4 digits only. A bit of a very unethical scam request for an email change?! Never give your whole number out to anyone your life is attached! I paid off my account and closed it.
Gettington wants you to keep ordering or they will reduce you line or credit If you don't order in a lot they will close your account with out any notice this hurt you credit score when they close your account their item s are way over price any way and real poor customer service

All of their prices on regular items you can find elsewhere are too high. A simple generation 1 Amazon Echo Dot is more than 2x the price of a CURRENT model on any other website. Not sure why I started getting their targeted ads this week, but I laugh at each item and close the window.
I had a balance $37.00 and paid it off. The next month I received an alert that I had a balance of $20. I received a call from an individual repressing Gettington, stating my payment of $20 was past due. I explained to her that my balance was paid off. Meanwhile, chickens are crowing in the background. She confirmed that my balance was paid in full, but gave me a number to call. She was unable to explain the discrepancy.
Yesterday, I received notification that my balance is now $40,
I know they have gone out of business, but it seems that these people are scammers. I have reported it.
Word to the wise: Monitor your balances.

Stay away from this company, I am reporting them for unauthorized activity using my bank account. Two Transactions were done, one for $685.50 and other for $500 and are already cleared from my bank account. This is the second time they tried to mess up with my finances. I am wonder how many people they are stealing using bank accounts. I am reporting this activity.
