It is extremely difficult to use their website and App. Nothing seems to work consistently. I can only access them via iPhone, although I would prefer to use my laptop if I could. But am unable to create an account or sign-onto it if I use common laptop browsers like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. And they have been unable to fix the problem. Another major gripe: They list 12-15 participating restaurants in my city. Upon researching that list, I've found (so far) that two are permanently closed, and one closed but reopened under a different name which I don't see on their "list". Found one I liked. Their website showed they are alive and well. But they only open at 4 p.m. 7-days a week. No problem, but if you buy one of the certificates for this restaurant, it is only valid before 3:30 p.m. And you'd play heck getting a replacement certificate! Do your research if you use Restaurant.com.
I received a $100 Restaurant.com gift card from Monster.com (a travel agent) for my recent purchase. I tried creating an account on Restaurant.com to redeem the amount. But no luck. Tried several times always it gives the attached error message. I called the customer care number several times always keeps us waiting for an executive and gets disconnected after 30mins stating "No executive available". I believe it's a fraud. Please be aware.

I was given a certificate as a gift. For a town with a population of over 400,000 people you'd expect there to be more than 5 restaurants to chose from. When I went to go use it at one restaurant I find the restaurant is closed and has been for a few months. I reported it to the site...twice...9 months later it's still listed on their site as an option to use it at. Straight garbage. Buy a gift card to a restaurant and save the trouble of this please.
Ordered two $15 gift certificates and paid a total of $12. Went to one of the listed restaurants for lunch with 3 other buddies. Good food; no problem having them accept the certificate. According to the rules you can only use one certificate per month, so will have to wait a month to go again. It is a bit of a clumsy system, but we did save a few $$. Printed the certificate on line as soon as I purchased it, which was a good feature.
I had $150 in restaurant.com gift cards. On Jan 17th, I transferred them to the app according to their faq page. I purchased $60 in certificates for places in my kids' college towns. The following day, I had none of the certificates and no remaining credit showing.
I have contacted them a min of 5 times by email and I have received only responses regarding where to find the gift cards and certificates. There has been no acknowledgement of my loss.
I called their customer service last week and they said it was escalating and I would get a response asap - nothing.
BBB has suspended their company!

I purchased some discount deals and they took my money, but when I open the Restaurant.com App on my iPhone, the deals I purchased ~ do NOT show up. I am currently talking to their customer service, but it doesn't look promising. I will give them one more day, then I will dispute the charge through my CC.
Tip for consumers:
Their app doesn't work. VERY difficult to use their service.

Overall, I've have had a great experience using restaurant.com. For more than 2 years.
However, We went to visit Paracho Restaurant in Riverside fir the first time because they were in Restaurant.com (and because they had indoor dining). Unfortunately, they didn't validate our certificate. Our server didn't even know about Restaurant.com (poor training). She said to wait for her supervisor. We had to wait about 10-15 min as she said her supervisor was in break (she was at a table by the bar) when she came she said she called the owner and he told her they were no longer with Restaurant.com. She told us he told her he had asked Restaurant.com to be removed. However, 5 days after they're still showing on their website. I asked her to ask him to validate our certificates for this time as we were first time customers. But she said she had already asked him. I guess they feel they can afford to loose new customers.
Food and service is good (3/5). Food price is fair but drinks are pricey. The restaurant needs to be more clean. There were dirty tables when we arrived.
I need a Refund and you should Add a REPORT RESTAURANT option.
I've been a customer of Restaurant.com for almost 20 years and have learned two things. It's terrible, but it's workable. The key is "Caveat Emptor" = "Buyer Beware". Here's how to make it work for you.
1. Go through their available list of restaurants
2. Sort your choices by size of $$ cost
3. If you have a credit of more than the largest $$ cost, go after the largest first
4. Read CAREFULLY the use limitation (Days, Hours, Max savings $$ on Min purchase $$)
5. Review the posted menu and prices
* if 4 and 5 aren't available, pass by them
6. BEFORE you order a certificate
a. CALL the restaurant to verify their acceptance and terms
b. Buy the largest $$ cost certificate you want
7. Work you way down to a final $5 certificate cost and buy it last
If you're going to give someone else a gift voucher, ask the recipient what restaurant out of the available restaurants they like, then do the above and buy the specific restaurant certificate to give them the.pdf of it so they can use it directly.
Once you get down to $5 credit, that's all you can get. You can't (but they can) combine credits. I have 4 x $100 plus 1 x $50 plus 1 x $15 plus 5 x $5 credit. IF I CAN EVER GET SOMEONE ON THE PHONE (rare), they will combine all the the less than $100 credits into the largest amount possible for this process to start over again.

I paid for a $100 gift card from restaurant.com. I never received the card despite having my cc charged immediately. I called/emailed 5 times to their customer service after two weeks of hearing nothing. I was told numerous times my case was being "escalated to customer service for review and would be notified their findings in 24-48hrs. I went throug 5 cycles of that never hearing anything from their end. Finally I gave up and filed a dispute with my credit card company who investigated and within 48hrs refunded my money. Restaurant.com is nothing but a scam as far as I'm concerned.
None of the restaurants you buy a certificate to are participating! No coupon/deal/certificate/anything is accepted anywhere! It's a whole scam!
And F Groupon for selling me the Scam and not refunding my money!

Com have all disappeared and not accept them as a vendor to them anymore,Anyone else like to comment on this issue thanks

Their "gift card" is 100% useless. The restaurants they list are out of date. They don't remove them if you tell them about it. NO RESTAURANT accepts their cards as far as I can tell. They can't transfer the restaurant.com gift card to be used on their specials either. DO NOT PURCHASE.
Also, their emails go nowhere. It has an autoreply saying to reply if you want an actual response. You will continue to get the same autoreply with no response.
Most of the reviewers with negative comments below apparently have difficulty navigating a web page. Any certificate that ends up not being used (for objective or subjective reasons) can be exchanged for a different restaurant for a "gift card" that can be used at a later date. My experience has been mostly positive, in that restaurants have accepted the certificates and wait staff has been cordial (you might remind wait staff that they are still getting tipped on the non-discounted amount if they seem grumpy about the certificate). You'd tip 15% anyway, and that extra 3% some restaurants reportedly add as "mandatory" typically doesn't add up to much - certainly not enough to whine and moan about publicly to one's own embarrassment. We've had a couple of last-minute changes of plans, and simply exchanged the certificate for something else.
That said, after getting a few certificates on special from, e.g., groupon, we haven't found opportunity to use them due to all the restrictions and most nearby participating restaurant options being a bit sketchy. I haven't yet found a way to get a refund, however.
In all, "meh" would be my review. When I've used the certificates I've saved at least 25% on the tab.
When you're paying a fraction of the savings offered, -- people need to keep it real on that it's not a Visa Gift Card. If you go to the website, put in your zip code, there are "Plenty" of restaurant options to select. Pull up code on your phone or print paper certificate. Follow instructions and 99% of the time, the restaurant will accept coupons as they get several a month as they're partners with this company. If a restaurant stopped accepting, which happens but is rare, then Restaurant Dot Com will give you new code to go elsewhere. Period, end of story. Follow the rules and the experience is ideal.
They stole my balance too! Stay away from these thieves! Paid for certificates that I had to swith from when the resaurant quite using them. Tranferrred the money and they took it before I could use it.
Purchased a bunch of certificates but can't use them anywhere within reason. Closest restaurant is a "deli" at about 1.5 hours away, but they may still decline it if I ever drive there. (Update 3/8/24, called the restaurant and they said they do not accept restaurant.com certificates). Years ago there were a few more participating restaurants. Now it's basically a scam. I wrote to the company restaurant.com multiple times but they do not respond and you can't call them. They are selling a product that can't get used and they know this, which is exactly why it's a scam. They misrepresent themselves to take advantage of people and should be fined and arrested.
Tip for consumers:
Avoid spending any money here. You can't use what you purchase from them.

A good idea but poorly executed. Customer service is severely lacking - don't think you can talk to anyone and it takes weeks or months for a reply.
I purchased restaurant vouchers for vacation and the restaurant was closed. I've notified restaurant.com on 4-6 occasions and the restaurant is still showing as an option (permanently closed). But I get to exchange my voucher... I won't make this mistake again. So much for their concern to make the experience good for us clients.

This is a scam. You can't get any restuarant to take the cards so they are WORTHLESS. You email them for help iin using these csrds and they NEVER respond. You call them for help in using these useless cards and you end up talking to a trained monkey instead of a human being. BEWARE THESE CARDS ARE USELESS.
Tip for consumers:
This business should be closed down immediately.

Restaurant gift cards supposedly.
I have no complaint about the certificates and their redemption, but the website is very poorly managed. My account lists some available certificates that I have long ago used, as well as restaurants that have gone out of business. It is disappointing to go to the location of the restaurant for which I have a certificate, only to find it no longer exists, and it's not just that it moved to another location. Some of those defunct restaurants continue to be in the list of restaurants for which I can select to redeem my certificates.
I purchased a new car and received. $100.00 giftcard for restaurant.com restaurants. You have to create an account to get access to the cards. I went online and downloaded the mobile app and no matter what combination of signup attempts I made to get access to the card there was always an error via captcha or it continuously says your passwords do not match over and over again. I reached out to customer service and they were no help either I just received an autobot response of their generic questions and answers. The card doesn't even have any direct contact information. If you want to give someone a restaurant gift card just go to the restaurant and pick one up or do a visa gift card. The restaurants listed under the card that I received aren't popular restaurants and I didn't even see one that I would dine at. This was not a good gift choice.
I basically gave them money. Thankfully not much but this is useless.
Read the fine print before you purchase and find out if there's even any restaurants near you that take this.
Such a scam.
Tip for consumers:
Read all the fine print. Read reviews.

Within 3 weeks of purchasing/attempting to use a Restaurants.com gift certificate, the restaurant told us they were no longer accepting these. I have emailed Restaurants.com to attempt to change this to another retaurant - NO RESPONSE. I have waited on hold with their customer "service" number - gave up. And they STILL continue to offer gift certificates to this restaurant. As far as I am concerned, Restaurants.com is SCAM.
Tip for consumers:
Stay away !

If I could leave a review with "zero" stars, I would. I've tried to redeem a card on three different browsers (Google Chrome, Safari, and Firefox) and not one of them worked correctly. I can't get off page 1 of 10. I can't even select a restaurant that's on page one. All I get is a "504" error page telling me it's taking too long to load. This company is total bull$#*! and a ripoff. Take your money and go have a good meal with it, because if you leave it in Restaurant.com's hands, you'll kiss it goodbye. /:-(
I've had $15 certificates for 3 years that I keep exchanging for other ones because the places don't accept. Every restaurant has said they contacted restaurant.com and they are still on the site. Call first to see, also the majority of the time it seems like places about to go out of businesses at any time. Only once has my food been worth the price before coupon and that place eventually stopped accepting them. I no longer have a local place within 50 miles that accepts them despite 5 still being sold on their website. I have also emailed them each time I went to a place that didn't accept them, no response ever.
