ABSOLUTELY LOVE Proxibid. I bought my daughters first cars on your site. I have spent literally thousands and thousands of dollars and have bought stuff that I would not have had an opportunity to buy otherwise. If you do your research on the items you are interested in, you will not be disappointed. The only thing that gets to me is the BUYERS PREMIUM. It continues to sky rocket. I was on one auction site and the BUYERS Premium was 26%. UHG! Over All my experience has been WONDERFUL!

Okay I have no real proof but it does seem that too often I lose a bid at the last minute to "onsite buyer" No way to check if it is legitimate. Sure makes one wonder when my highest bid is higher than the estimates and well above the other on line bidders but yet suddenly an on site buyer wins.

When Auction Houses are to send invoices thru Proxibid. You have several days to pay.
After the first invoices, Proxibid aloud access to my credit card and was charged the times by the same Auction Houses.
Proxibid customer service just said that they cannot do anything. You have to contact the Auction House. This the second time this happened. I had to file a complaint with another State Attorney General office on the first one. Still no $$ or merchandise.
There will not be a Third Time, I canceled my account with Proxibid.

Ordered 5 or 6 things from Proxibid. Companies charge more than quadruple for shipping than what it actually costs, but refuse to tell you the shipping charges until after you've purchased the item, which is how they TRAP you.
Items purchased were not as described & missing many pieces, but no refunds are allowed.
I do auctions for a living and this is absolutely the worst auction experience i've ever had. 1 star is too good for them.

Purchased a few items at a local auction( work auction of uniontown pa)! Everything was fine except 2 items that I was outbid on in the final minutes was on the next auction they ran! Since I've written reviews and they were pulled about workauction, also contacted proxibid and they allow this bidding and encourage it! When your the winning bidder and you are told you was o er bid to see item listed as passed? Bad business on both sides. Now auction is over you never see those bids again but those certain items bud up really didn't sale but back to seller! Bs scam

Recently I bid on 4 items using Proxibid, all 4 ran up to my maximum bid overnight while identical lots remained unbidden or at minimum. Proxibid did retract my bids after contacting via email but I now realize the same thing was done to me at a prior auction that I didn't catch.

Verified purchase

Purchased item from Wheeler Auction Paris Mo. I Purchased item for $23,500.00. Proxibid showed the same price of $23,500.00. Went to pay and Wheeler said price was $24,500.00. Ultimately even thou Proxibid showed the same price as my last bid of $23,500 00. Wheeler refused and removed me from property and told me to never return. Called Proxibid ask them to review recordings and was informed they could not help. Also ask Wheeler to review recorded records which they said they have however they refused. Purchased a second item and was not aloud to purchase that item also.

Have someone record your transactions at time of bidding!

Proxibid charges a fee to use their platform and offer no services in return. Will not hesitate to block a buyer for no cause and refuse to help a buyer if an issue on the buyers end arises. They get 3-5% fee per item, no cap. It should be illegal for them to take so much of our money and not be obligated to give service. They will have you send detailed emails to the dispute department and they never respond. When you call back in their response is not our auction/ item, not our problem. We've bought a lot from proxibid in the last 3 years, I'd recommend you buy from Equipment facts, Level, hi-bid or the auctions directly before Proxibid!

Tip for consumers:
They are nothing more than the middle man. They are for the sellers only. If the seller sends in any type of dispute on you they will block your account until cleared up even if it is a false dispute or a mistake. If you have the same type of issue with a seller they say they are only a platform and nothing they can do. Without the buyers they wouldn't have a business yet they do nothing for the buyers.

Was bidding on one auction in the morning, an their system went down, Couldn't log in any more.
Wasn't able to increase my bid, and lost the item.
Went to another auction, and placed a max bid on about 8 or 9 items, and was high bidder on all or the, but when I went to check in around closing time, could not log in again.
Proxi-Fail then announced that system was down (2 days ago), and as of time of writing this, they are still saying system will be down for more days.
On top of that, my credit card just got whacked!
I have a feeling this isn't going to end well. They seem to have a major data breach!

Tip for consumers:
I just hope I can get my money back!

Check the terms of sale carefully guys. This is a direct except:
'At the request of the auction company, this auction permits bids to be placed by the auctioneer, an employee of the auctioneer, or the seller or an agent on the seller's behalf. While Proxibid's Unified User Agreement prohibits this behavior, in accordance with UCC 2-328, this auction is permitted to engage in this activity by providing this clear disclosure to you, the bidder.'
And part 2, same auction:
'This auction company has requested and been granted access to see all bids placed including any maximum pre-bids. This auction is permitted to engage in this activity by providing this clear disclosure to you, the bidder.'

So, in a nutshell, it is somehow okay to allow the seller to not only see the bids before the auction starts, but to place their own bids. Sellers are plain kicked off of Ebay for that crap, it's called shill bidding, and reputable companies stay away from it like the plague. But not Proxibid.

Huge rip-off for packing+shipping. When bidding over the 'net on a $55 item (small, 3lb), surcharges ($5.85), packing ($25) and shipping ($41.20) added more than $70 to the cost - significantly more than the item itself! Total scam.

Tip for consumers:
Packing and shipping is a huge ripoff.

Stealing money, fraud, misrepresentation, no accountability. See attached picture, someone is maxing out bids when they come in to make more money on the item. No one would bid on a higher priced item that has 5 others choose from that are below $20 and then one sky rockets to $110? No one would keep biding on the single item other then the seller. These pictured were all listed together in the same auction yet one jumps? Use common sense its because someone put what they are willing to pay in a max bid and the seller outbids to keep moving the price up.

Tip for consumers:
don't even sign up for this, go to a live auction if you want real thrill of an auction, this is crap

Software is crappy, hard to make a profile... for me it was like a day until i git it working.

So there are fees:
- INTERNET PRDMIUM!: This means that you need to pay here a premium as you are buying online.:"DDDDDDDDDDDDDD
- tax: ofc, you pay the tax, not the seller... (maybe i'm just European and don't get it)
- packaging + post

Than they ask for your full credit card info to be saved. And after the auction when the seller will be sooo nice to finally charge it, you will need to live ur card sble to do online oayments. You will wait days...

Something happens?: You pay a charge for it.

Never seen such a bad business model...

Tip for consumers:
only use it when you find super good things for super cheap... fees will spply! If there is a way, just don’t use it.

I recently participated in the CT Firearms auction on proxy bid. The descriptions were accurate and the staff at CT Firearms were helpful. The bidding goes fast. Know what you want and your max bid. It's easy to get caught up in the action. Also, bid as soon as possible. I missed one lot due to not being fast enough, my fault, not theirs. All in all, great experience.

I received a call from 6 & 6 Auction from Bill, went through the bidding history and explained exactly what occurred - two of us bid the exact same amount on the maximum bid... I was the first to select that maximum and that's how it went down. Bill was really nice and said they are very honest. Happy with that.
NOTE that your online bidding will automatically reach your MAXIMUM bid amount with no one else bidding on item. This is unfair and unethical business practice and needs to be reported to the better business bureau or other agency that can do something about this. I also heard they allow the owners of the items to bid on their items to jack the price up!

Auction company backed they have 0% interest in making sure you get what was advertised. Any misrepresented items no matter how bad the item is misrepresented will NOT BE RESOLVED by proxy bid the only issue they will try to get resolved is the money you owe them regardless of what the Auction house has done wrong. There are many good reliable upstanding companies out there that do this right but proxy bid is not one of them.

Offer no consumer protections, aside from talking to sellers. Other then seller having a ein do no vetting or shipping practices. Use their site knowing that if anything goes bad you have to find a way to settle it basically on your own.

The items I purchased were pressed together against each other and the outside of the box. Was charged 22+ each item for shipping and handling yet shipped together.

I want to see big history to see how other bidders are posting bids. Yes I understand increments but if there's a large max bid winning and other bidders bid you can see the increments they are bidding... slowing pushing the maxi bid up or "big jumps"... i. e., small bids or big time bids as they push toward a maxi bid that keeps "winning" Thus you can judge the aggressiveness of these other bidders (I never thought about the possibility of some shill bidding to push up bids) I called in and was not convinced by the Proxibid employee that said "they" don't show you "that"
Makes one think?

Have spent thousands on this site across probably 10 different auction companies. There are some major problems that Proxibid knows about and even encourages. I don't know the exact fee structure but obviously Proxibid is getting a percentage otherwise they would remove the scammers.
First of all the auction companies set their own terms, meaning they decide their premium, shipping and handling costs, how long they have to ship items, return policies etc...
There are a select few auction companies on there which mostly give accurate listings and don't overcharge for shipping and handling but they are few and far between. Just like Proxibid, the auction houses don't own the things they sell but they get a percentage of the sales which incentivizes them to get as much money as they can.
So in all auctions there's an incentive to hide flaws, but in this situation unlike Ebay Proxibid does everything they can to protect dishonest sellers.

The most common tactic the auction houses use is shill bidding. They use a house bidder to bid items up to people's max bids. Proxibid allows this as long as the auction house makes a disclosure in their terms of service.

Also they exaggerate things quality and value, to the point of fraud in the listings, they don't disclose mechanical problems on vehicles. They sell coins and collectibles which are listed at a much higher grade than they actually are. I've personally reported the worst sellers to Proxibid and they said if I don't like it don't bid in the auctions.

Proxibid protects the sellers, by telling you to work it out with the seller when 9 out of 10 times the seller knows about it and will just say all sales are final. They don't make feedback comments public and they let the sellers inflate their feedback by buying their own stuff. You'll notice most scam companies have thousands of 4-5 star feedback. They don't make the comments public so people who are mentioning the scam don't ruin it.

To be honest statistically, if you buy on the site more than a couple times you will get scammed. They can make a lot more money this way so even the auction companies that start out legit usually start scamming as well. I went back to Ebay to source my items. At least they have buyer protection policies there.

Tip for consumers:
Don't bother. Take half the money you were going to spend here and throw it away. Go out for dinner and be happy you saved some money.

Proxibid is good until you get scammed. Be warned, they ALWAYS side with the seller, and are NO help whatsoever if you find yourself in a bad place. Make no mistake, even if an item is misrepresented, which was the situation in my case... (I bought a card listed as first edition but it wasn't) they will do nothing to help you. I got my item authenticated by a professional (as part of their filling a case requirement) and all Proxibid did was contact the seller on my behalf... What a joke. That is them "trying" to help you. Their help only involves contacting the company, which you can do yourself. If they buyer doesn't want to work with you (which they almost never will), well thats the end of your case... sucks for you. I wish I would have known this before I started bidding. Don't get fooled into thinking they are the most "Trusted site for connecting buyers and sellers for high valued items" as they claim. You will get the short end of the straw with these guys. Unless of course you're a seller. If you're a seller looking to scam people, look no further! Proxibid is your safe haven, you don't have to worry about false titles, listing descriptions, or photos. None of it will mater, sellers always win here.

I've attached a photo of what i bough as "1st edition" and what a "First edition" case actualy looks like. I sent these same photos along with a authenticated note from a professional and still nothing. Pathetic
