Theres enough bad press floating around I'll take everyones word for it and besides I'm sorted and your about to be, and if you already know about apples refurbished product list for sale at a fraction of retail why are you still looking elsewhere?
People if you want deals safe sound and secure, apple have a refurbished list of products refurbished means updated, new hardware, software and casing with all the trimmings like a pair of ear plugs installs the lot, it's second hand thats correct can you tell? not at all it comes in the same box it does if it were brand new and it looks brand new performs brand new. The price i bought my ipod touch for, latest model IOS4.2 while in australia $AUD180, retail it's about $AUD289 8GB they have other listings as well so just keep an eye out heres a link.

This & another similarly named and visually almost identical is a scam site. It offers I-pod Nano 5s at prices ranging from £59 to £89. I paid £79 for a 16GB Nano on 4.10; at first all looked OK but when I received a notification from Barclaycard that my payment had been entered as 831.68CNY (Chinese Yuan), & merchant URL was www.topsmerchant.com & payment method quoted as Ecpss Payment Gateway (Google search = fraudulent) I realised I had been scammed! I have had to block my only credit card with all the attendent ramifications. A NIGHTMARE -DON'T GO NEAR THIS SITE!! Its home page looks like it is an Apple site with good graphics.
thank you bryan for your comment.
I was so close to making a purchase myself but told it was too good to be true..When I could not find any link on the website to contact customer services, I knew something was fishy....
I hope all's sorted with your Barclays credit card...
Noo!!
I have just bought from this site.. They have taken the money for it but i havent recieved anything!! I knew there was something wrong when the email come through as chinese!!!
How the hell am I going to get my money back?!?!!
Nearly 3 weeks after the order was placed I did receive what, at first sight (blue instead of the green I ordered) looked like the genuine article but as soon as I looked at it more closely it was quite clearly a fake - and it doesn't work, surprise surprise! I have now approached Barclaycard for a refund and awaiting a reply.
Just a thought after closing down last evening, perhaps for Roni T's benefit if you are in the UK, my first approach for advice was to Consumer Direct on 0845 404 0506 for advice; you might try that as a first move to get your money back. I hope you're successful and get your money back - similarly, I hope I do! Can anyone advise me on any action one can take to get these sort of scam sites closed down?
I ordered from this site on 23rd of October, have heard nothing. Just found this site with the comments, also not sure what to do about getting my money back. Have just phoned my credit card company and have been told to ring back tomorrow. The payment came out on my statement to WWW.EDHARDYYUS.COM
SHENZHEN CHN (Edharyyus.com is an american company selling clothes!!). Also the payment taken came to £81.19 with the following line showing: 821.60 CNY @ 0.0988. Hoping my credit card company can do something about closing this site down.........
Hi, has anyone had them not take the payment? It still says pending, we ordered from this site on the 30th had the conirmation order and then another saying the card not being accepted? Is this what anyone recived?
thanks
Credit card company have said I have to wait until I receive my statement and then dispute the payment...that is not until 24th November..
Thanks for your help Bryan. Have contacted Consumer Direct. Will keep you informed. :)
Tracey p, I had exactly the same response from Barclaycard but am slightly further on than you, having had my statement on 29 Oct. The verbal advice received from Barclaycard Customer Service prior to writing to them was to send every piece of documentation - confirmation of order etc - (I copied all mine) plus stress in a letter to them that the goods cannot be returned as there is no return address. It seems that returning the goods might get them off the hook. Back one stage, my payment was credited to www.Topsmerchant.com, Shenzhen, China, different to yours - a Google search is revealing - it seems they are huge wholesalers for all sorts of goods i ncluding clothes and based in China, although I did find a US connection on a previous search - Chicago I think it was. Best of luck, Roni T.
hi Bryan
As you said in your earlier post, I too have received a blue ipod (yesterday) which is also a fake and does not work correctly, it just seems to act like a mass storage device, it doesn't connect to itunes at all. Thanks for the information will await my statement and speak to my credit card provider again, will post how I get on....
i ordered from that website on 6th nov im so gutted i didnt click it was to good to be true and have now lost £69. i really dont no what to do or where to start. what are the chances of getting our money back and should i contact my back incase they try taking more money from me??? help
I went to consumer direzt and they were very unhelpful. They said I need to send a letter to the company to ask for a refund. No matter how many times I told them I haven't got any contact details not even an email they kept on telling me to write the letter as it can be used as evidence in court. I asked If they had any other help and they said no. I keep forgetting to phone my bank but I will do it just incase! I really don't think I will get my money back!!
Hey everyone. I ordered from this website, it was £89.00 but I got charged £91.75 from Shenzhen Netbizpay.com! I am totally paranoid now and im away to call my bank. Hopefully they will be able to sort something out. Good luck to you all, will keep you updated x
Bank says I will have to wait 30 days to see if they post the item to me, if I dont recieve anything by then they can chase them up to get my money back but cant promise anything so I am off to call my local police station for more advice.
I can't even find it on my statement!! There is nothing that matches up! There is a payment for £72 to www.vcpayment.com.... Don't know what that is for but it seems to be around the right time to be for the iPod!? Really don't know what to do!!!!
I have an appointment with a police officer tomorrow night. The police officer on the phone told me that it is fraud so they will have to come out to speak to me. Take my advice and get in contact with your local police station for advice! Hope this helps everyone x
oh no i ordered 1 on the 5th of nov and not recieved anything much like the above, ( wish i knew about this site first) i paid on credit card but not got statement yet im worried their gonna use my card details and not sure what to do, im really cross as i ordered this for my daughters birthday ! hope i can claim my money back!!
To des g. & Roni T & anyone else who has been caught by this scam: To be safe you should get your credit card company to block your credit card (see my original post on 8 October) it's a bind but is the only really safe way. Incidentally, I am still awaiting a response to my claim from Barclaycard. Your idea to contact the police sounds interesting Kimberly S. so I am about to do that too. Really sorry des g. to know that your daughter will probably be disappointed. I really wish a way could be found to close the fraudulent site down to prevent others from being caught out - anybody any ideas?
i went 2 the police and they said they cant do anything they just gave me a number 4 cisten advise. Not happy that they wont help.
I contacted the police today; they told me that this is a Trading Standards issue and gave me a number to call that turned out to be Consumer Direct again. The lady I spoke to there referred back to my original call back in October and stated that they always forward these sort of details to Trading Standards who can contact me if required as part of any investigation they undertake. I pressed the issue, stating that an increasing number of people are being caught by this scam; she assured me that info given today will be passed to Trading Standards who may or may not contact me direct. It appears that I am not able to contact Trading Standards direct although I am going to try.
They told me the same. I found consumer direct very unhelpful. Police were unhelpful too said they will 'look into it' and in the mean time to phone consumer direct. I have taken the matter to the BBC watchdog too.. I need to email them again and tell them I have now recieved a fake iPod ect. Maybe if we all done that together they could build a case and maybe make a bit more progress than we arem making! I have also told apple about the scam too. They told me they were alrady aware if the site and are investigating!!! They gave me a link to buy a refurbished iPod and said they are hope to get the site taken down.
I had told Apple about this too with as much detail as I could give about 3 weeks ago and suggested they took what action they could to close this site down; apart from anything else, it is jeopardising Apple's good name and their products. Good idea to go to Watchdog - I'll join in too.
ive joined the watch dog 2, hopefully sumthing wil get done.
i gonna join watchdog too.
My boyfriend contacted Watchdog about this.I recieved the ipod a few days ago, it looks genuine, just what I ordered and I have a returns address in some chinese language which I am going to contact the police with! :)
Is there a thread for this topic on the watchdog website or do you log it under "my story"?
thanks
i got my ipod 2 day 100% fake. And the address is somewhere in china. Very mad. Any ideas what 2 do next?
i got my ipod too, again 100% FAKE! i am so cross! i wrote to watch dog under "my story" i also have an address on the delvery note, for china, not sure what to do now. credit card compony said i needed to wait for my statemaent to come b4 i can claim the money back, but i will get it back they said if everything they ned adds up, so i suggest keeping every email and proof of purchase as they want to know the ins and outs of it all. i will keep everyone infrmed a to the progress, if any!!
Up-date: I am still awaiting Barclaycard response to my 3.11 letter requesting a refund & have written again to chase. I tried to access the fake site just now but instead of getting it my browser showed a 'Reported Web Forgery' notice! Similarly, an access attempt to www.ipodnanouk.com threw up a notice from ICE - Homeland Security Investigations stating that the '...domain name has been seized.....pursuant to a seizue warrant issue by a United States District Court...' There follows a paragraph about this being a federal crime carrying severe penalties etc etc. Have we helped ?? At least no more unfortunates will be caught!
Hi all
Thankfully, after reading your comments, i have not placed an order for an ipod. Just so you and anyone else is aware, i think this is the same site you all talk about:
http://www.ipodnanosite.com.
I hope you all get sorted. Good luck!!
unfortunately i have been scammed to....by another site http://www.ipodnanosite.com. and i am totally gutted...i am usually quite good with the internet but as my little girl got sick with leukaemia in oct.. i wasnt able to get any xmas shopping done and to be honest i was looking a quick and handy way to get a few bits for my 2 boys for xmas as i have too much on my mind...well now i have nether the money or the ipods!!!!!!!why are these people getting away with this and why is nothing been done to stop them??? i bought 2 of them for 138.00 and when i checked my bank account there was 143.93 taken out and it put me over my overdraff as i only had the money to pay for these ipods...so now im going to have bank charges as well!!!!! can it get any better for us???
I am really sorry to read that people are still being caught. It is very clear that whoever is running this scam tries to keep one jump ahead by changing the domain names from time to time. I had an info e-mail a couple of days ago from http://www.ipodnanosales.com stating that the domain name had been changed to http://www.ipodnano-onlinestore.info , thanking me for doing business with them and signed off 'Best regards'!! The original site I traded with was http://www.ipodnano-sales.info so clearly it has changed names several times since beginning of October. BE VERY CAREFUL - ANY SITE WITH A SIMILAR NAME NEEDS TO BE AVOIDED LIKE THE PLAGUE - IT WILL BE CHANGED AGAIN, BE SURE. I am still waiting for Barclaycard to respond 10 weeks later!!!
this is all a scam and it will not work
exactly, harry! any website that uses a trademarked name in its URL (unless it's the business itself), it's going to sell you replicas or just scam you... thanks for reporting on these!
dont scam me please
Hi. Just realised once I found this website that have been conned and feel really sick need to check bank details later - did pay on credit card. It basically is a fake.
Like all the rest here I have been scammed by this site for Christmas. I have received an ipod and it does actually switch on but no sound and blatantly a fake, very poor imitation ipod with a wheel that hardly works. Absolute rubbish! Bought on visa and bank advised I am covered so should get my money back.
Hi, I'm another of the many suckers falling foul to this scam. I was looking for an old model Nano and genuinely thought this site was selling genuine ones. The first self-acknowledgement of order was in English and the second in Chinese. Alarm bells rang!!
I telephoned my credit card company less than 12 hours after placing the order. Too late!! The transaction had gone through. Not the £89 but £94. I cancelled my credit card immediately. Just what you need before Xmas!! Nothing has arrrived, hopefully I can claim the £94 back on my card in the New Year.
Norman - we all have fallen for a scam at one point or another guys so you're not a sucker. If you canceled immediately, there shouldn't be a reason they wouldn't refund it. Best of luck there and safe shopping in 2011...
T.
Yes I have been scammed. Normally careful but got caught - they sent me a fake iPod. Does anyone have screen grab(s) of the site please. Credit card company need this to be certain I was not knowingly buying a fake iPod. If you do it will make my Christmas. mail to rob.kinnersley@hotmail.com or post on-line so others can take same route.
SUCCESS of a woman scorned ! Actually got my money back from this IFraud site!!
Like all other customers I purchased an IPOD Nano for £59 from this site in december 2010 thinking it was a genuine apple site!! The order was processed 4 times!! Realising then it was a scam I cancelled bank card and any transactions - unfortunatley by the time I had gone to bank the next day one transaction has gone through for £61. Bank told me I would have to wait 30 days to see if product came! NOT SATISFACTORY!!
I ignored advice from local bank and called the fraud department of the bank - explained how the contract of sale was breached as they took more money than agreed, that the site was a fake and was taken down due to abuse . Fraud department said they would TRY to get money back.NOT SATISFACTORY!!
I took matters into my own hand and done some research online (http://whois.domaintools.com/) and found the domain registration details of the person that set the site up (obviously most of the details are fake but not the personal e-mail address!!) Its public information so here you go......

I had the luck of paying through PayEase, so e-mailed both administrator of PayEase (paymentservice@payeasenet.com) and ptyw0594@gmail.com (owner). Explaining that I wanted to cancel order due to the company taking more money than agreed and selling fake goods and alot less flattering comments!! Company/owner e-mailed back within a few hrs saying "Dont be worry, we only will ship 1".!! I e-mailed back again saying to CANCEL order and REFUND money. After a few days and several e-mails to PayEase and the owner, PayEase emailed to say that the merchant issued a full refund to be paid within 2 weeks (only been one week since this so im still waiting).
i'll let you know if the money appears - hopefully it will as its PayEase that have demanded it.
I hope this helps ... its a disgrace that blatant fraud can occur in this way !!
Good Luck
Hi Evon I have already done this & the print out is the same as above. We have filed a complaint with the bank & they are investigating this fraudulent website, it looks like we have a good chance of a refund. Also we have reported them to Apple so hopefully they will shut him down!
another numpty! all looked above board, apple icon ect. However chinese email and they tried to take three payments, have cancelled card but have to wait 15 days before bank can try and request money back! people like this take our money and get away with it! There should be a stronger entry requirememnt to sell online!!! too many sites to search for reviews requires time which if numpties like us who work full time and have children do not have that extra time!
previously known as www.ipodnanosales.com.. now trading under a new name as www.ipodnano-onlinestore.info...probably because they have been caught out... both are fraudulent sites... money was debited from my account but no goods arrived, i had to change my bank details and they had the cheek to send me an email with there change of website name and half the email was in Chinse...DO NOT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY AS IT IS A TOTAL FRAUD.......
Ordered a 8gb 5th gen Nano for £59, As soon as payment cleared had phone call from bank regarding transaction in China!! Goods never arrived three weeks on total rip off & it's still up & running!!! Reported this web site as fraudulent several times but everyone seems powerless to shut it down & no doubt they are still making a killing ripping people off of their hard earned cash at Christmas.
Reading all correspondence,I am not sure if it is our fault, after all my decision to view this website was arrived at by the website being included in Google Ads,which until two hours ago ,was still there.
Further ,it was an AVG trusted site.
I have the screenshot placing ipod-nanouk.com next to Marks&Spencer and Amazon.
My experience is that I purchased an ipod for £79 on Sat 11th Dec,had an uneasy feeling about the transaction this evening and having read what small coverage there is on this scam, resorted to cancelling my visadebit card having being told by the bank that the money needs to leave the account before it can be traced.
Then the dispute starts,
Like all the others who have reviewed this site, I have just found out today this is a rogue site and www.digginshop.com. I purchased an ipod, received no delivery date, tried to contact the website and could get no answer, when I searched for the website, I got this one complaining, didn't even know it was a Chinese company until I got credit card transaction, too late though they have taken the money twice - had to cancel card. Can't be classed as fraud as I gave my details, got to try and dispute payments now - nightmare!!!!
Do NOT!!!!! Go near this website, ever! I am furious that me and my girlfriend have been ripped off! Over 70 pounds wasted. It's just disappointing how one human being could do that to another, especially at christmas. We just feel like total idiots, if anyone can help please contact me via my e-mail. Thank you
This website is a total scam! it is Not affiliated with Apple in any way. they take mmore money from you than they say and don't even send out your product! BEWARE, this website is being run in China so there is no way to get your money back. i contacted my solicitor and was told there is nothhing he could do. i warn anyone who has been on this site, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!
http://www.ipodnanosite.com I'm assuming this site is the same as above just using a different web address to get away with it again!!
Bought my ipod last night and thought the payment confirmation was very odd, as for an Apple site it was incomplete and said it needed administrator editing!! I then searched and this was the closet website address that came up as a scam, I can almost guarantee it's the same thing!
have contacted my bank, they can see the payment pending but cannot cancel it until it goes through then they can disbute it for me. It's also not £79 but £81 which I know people have said the price was more than stated. Bank suggested blocking my account and getting a new card...just what you want this close to Christmas!!
So angry! Hope the ipod blows up in their faces!!
It appears to be a complete scam. The other reviews are exactly what has happened to me, you feel such an idiot for being sucked in. Avoid it like the plague, jointly scammed with visamasterpay.com and mobitopay.com. These have been given as contacts re. the finance but not getting any joy in getting my money back. Have reported to Apple, Gov. report a scam, and will now inform the police. Oh and have even emailed Watch dog, so who know we may all get something doen about these crooks!!
I have been taken in by this site too, yesterday in fact. I was buying two ipods, thought maybe they were refurbs from Apple. I put in my card details (Debit card) but it came up as payment failed, so I tried again, same thing. But when I went back on my account information it showed three transactions were processing. I was in panic mode. Three transactions of £128 each were going through and no contact numbers or email addresses. I got straight on to my bank and explained, they said that no transaction had gone out of my account yet and I just had to wait. Having thought about it overnight I rang my bank this morning, still nothing gone out of my account, but I cancelled my bank card and blocked it and asked them to reissue me with a new one. I just hope this company has not been able to use my card. I can't believe this company can still carry on taking peoples money. Is there no way of stopping them? Just don't need this hassle before Christmas.
Do not use that website it is a total scam. Everyone who has been scamed go onwww.oft.gov.uk/OFTwork/ConsumerProtection/.../report-a-scam! We need to make everyone aware!
This & another similarly named and visually almost identical is a scam site. It offers I-pod Nano 5s at prices ranging from £59 to £89. I paid £79 for a 16GB Nano on 4.10; at first all looked OK but when I received a notification from Barclaycard that my payment had been entered as 831.68CNY (Chinese Yuan), We have been well and truly STITCHED UP. A NIGHTMARE -DON'T GO NEAR THIS SITE!! Its home page looks like it is an Apple site with good graphics.
Hey guys, Thank you for the comments, this was really helpful. Ive almost bought the I pod. Thanks a lot,
Very nearly used this site because it looked so slick but thought I'd check it out first. Thank you for all your warnings you saved me a lot of bother. CB
