If I could give zero stars I would. There is no real site. It does not work. No response to emails. Shame on restaurant.com for being involved with this sham of a company. Working with my credit card company to get my money back.

Whoever is in charge of being the representative for this fraud company is sassy and unprofessional.
Scroll around and read the responses when people make legit claims. Whoever is responsible for responding to the reviews, needs to take a customer service course (or retake it). Instead of validating the reviews, they go on here to attempt to discredit the legit customer reviews instead of making it up to the customers. This is typical behavior for fraudulent companies, any respectable business would be ashamed if their representatives were behaving in a petty manner towards customers with legit complaints/ negative reviews for everyone to read.
Traveling all over the country. Most of the locations where we want a room have no hotels in the program. Those that do have rates higher than I can get with AAA discount.
I purchased this a few years ago and NOTHING was received. Even better business could not get this site to refund my money.
Booked 4 nights in Savannah, Ga. And the hotel said they never got paid. We were out over $500. No answers from them and elsewhere, nobody could or would help, including Restaurant.com, the site where we got this garbage. I finally found someone and after 3 months of calls, texts and emails, I actually got a Cashier's Check refund of the full amount! I never thought I'd actually get anything, despite my repeated contact with him. Here's the information:

More than welcome to hear from you.
Can't even use their web site to determine availability at any of their participating hotels, as their web site doesn't function at all (just spins and spins)... avoid at all costs!

My husband bought these and I have yet to be able to book a hotel, the website doesn't work. I sent two emails 168 hours ago and they say we'll get back to you within 48 to 72 hours and NO RESPONSE! Nothing! I want my money back I'm so irritated.
With all due respect ALL of customer issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Why doesn't the website work? I have been trying FOR MONTHS to use the site but there is an error every single time, the same error, and this is ridiculous. I am going to report this place, because I have tried four times to get customer service to help me out, and have received no reply at all. When I first got the card I actually used it. But now the website is completely different and I can't even check out a hotel!
Tip for consumers:
I wanted to say that I finally was notified by the company I purchased the card from:
"SORRY FOR THE DELAY!
Our records indicate that you previously purchased a Hotel and Resort eGift Card. Our travel partner experienced unexpected turbulence on their site causing a delay in voucher redemption.
Their site is now running smoothly and you can activate your Hotel and Resort eGift Cards."
The site,Restaurant.com, also gave me a free $100 Card for the hotelandresortcard.com. The site IS UP

We bought these egift cards after our local news had it as the deal of the week. It was sold as a gift card but doesn't work as a gift card. Can hardly use anywhere we want and doesn't apply the entire amount so not a gift card at all (gives like a 10% discount). How can this be sold as a gift card? Our news station should have done more digging before promoting this scam of a "deal"
Sound like your local news station did not properly represent how the product works. Go here to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uwbjcfKKhw&feature=youtu.be
I have $1100. 00 worth of garbage... live and learn, even at my age, shame on me! Has anyone ever been able to book on this BS site?
Actually in the past 3 years we have over 6,500 successful reservations and over 2,000 repeat customers
Thought to myself, wow what an unbelievable deal. So I went to see what the conditions were and they blocked me from seeing past #1. So I went incognito and got the following full story they don't want us to see before we buy. Oh and by the way most hotels have free offers on their sites or discount site.
http://www.hotelandresortcard.com/how_it_works.php
You are correct many sites have deals. We invite you anytime to send us the deal so we can provide you an "apple to apple" comparison.
Absolutely terrible... this should be labeled as fraud. No availability and prices for reservations using the card are more $$ if you just booked it yourself. Someone should investigate and shut this down. It is FRAUD!
We would be glad to respond to you just e mail us at customerserviceassist.com and we can compare apples to apples on rates.
Wow. I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased two vouchers. Looks like I've wasted $80.00. I had emailed the company requesting my refund. I can't active the vouchers and to hear the small discounts associated with this scam.

Glad to compare rates.
My sister booked a hotel for me and my wife over Christmas. I was asked for my credit card for incidentals. When I got home I was charged $182. So I called the hotel and they told me that the 3rd part booking agents credit card was declined and I was charged. I emailed them right away. I've been getting the run around ever since. It wasn't till I threatened them that I got a call. I was told this whole story how their account got hacked and as a gesture of good will they gave me $100 to resturants.com. Another worthless website.
It's been about a month now and just sent my last email to them and got a reply that they are still working on my refund. It shouldn't take a month to get a refund. I called the hotel and they told me that all this company has to do is call them with a new credit card and they would issue me a refund. In addition, they charged my sister MORE than the hotel charged Me! Total Scum.
Tip for consumers:
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!
Due to a mix up there was a time delay before this was resolved. The reason the amount "ultimately charged to you was it was the amount we would have paid. Due to the mix up other than supplying the hotel a emplacement card you were the BENEFIT of our rate and we forfeited our PROFIT. I am all for everyones reviews it just matters that the facts are corrected and "alternate" facts ofehihc don't exist are used.
What kind of bull $#*! is this card I bought the card and the hotels are more money then getting them myself
We wold be glad to run a proper comparison.
In June, 2015, I purchased a gift card for hotelandresorts.com from restaurant.com to save money on a trip that I was taking 8 of my family on over Christmas. I found that you had to book your hotel room through the hotelandresorts.com website to get a small per night discount at a Hilton property. I booked 2 rooms for 7 nights at the Embassy Suites in Milpitas, California. While the discount was small, because I booked 2 rooms for 7 nights, I did save close to $150 using the gift card that cost me less than $20a good deal, or so I thought!
The process was Hotelandresortcard.com charged my credit card and then they in turn booked the hotel rooms using their American Express card. I got my room confirmation from them and double checked with Embassy Suites to make sure I indeed had confirmed room reservations (I had to have them link those rooms to my Hilton account number, though). After spending one night in the hotel, I was alerted that Embassy Suites was charging both rooms to my card that I had given the hotel for incidentals. I went to the front desk and they told me that they had run hotelandresortscard. Coms American Express card 10 times and it was declined each time----so they were charging me for the rooms that I had already paid hotelandresortcard.com for.
Hotelandresortcard.com has NO customer service telephone number so the only way I had of contacting them was to go to their website and fill out a form explaining the problem and ask them to contact me ASAP. To this date, THEY NEVER HAVE CONTACTED ME. I went to the hotel manager to see if they had a way to contact hotelandresortcard.com since they claim to be a Hilton business partner. The manager had no idea who they were. I called Hiltons customer service and got transferred three times to different departments and no one at Hilton could give me any contact information either. Finally, I called restaurant. Coms customer service department to see if they could help me since they were the ones who sold me the gift certificate (which they are still selling on their site.) I finally talked to a rep who said she would put in an urgent request to fix this problem.
On day five at the hotel (after being charged the entire hotel bill on MY credit card), I went to the front desk to see if they could send me an email documenting that hotelandresortscard. Coms credit card had been declined several times so I could dispute the charges on my credit card. For some reason, I asked them to rerun their credit card----and this time it went through---a miracle.
Bottom line, THE HASSLE IN USING HOTELANDRESORTCARD.COM IS DEFINITELY NOT WORTH WHAT LITTLE I SAVED AND WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.
UPDATE: a month after this occurred I got an email from the hotel saying that the American Express card given to them by hotelsandresorts.com was fraudulent and asked me to provide additional information. As luck would have it, I just so happened to get an "customer satisfaction survey" email from hotelandresorts.com that week (the first I had heard from anyone at that company). I shared this horror story in my survey response and sent the email contact to the hotel. I was then copied on several emails back and forth between the hotel and them and had to ask to take me off the CC list since this was no longer my concern. I eventually got a $100 restaurant. Com gift card for my "trouble".
Follow up to review by Cass R. (on specials@ restaurant.com offering the Hotelandresortcard.com discounted e-gift certificates ($40.00 for $400.00 worth of e-gifts)
Hey wish I had read your review before I bought. It gets worse for me... I stupidly booked a hotel room thru them & they immediately charged my cc. I read & looked at the fine print on the page of my confirmation and it said it could be cancelled within 72 hours. I cancelled and after a few days my credit came thru on the cc BUT minus $25.00. Contacted HotelandResortCard & they referred me to their terms which said may charge a $25.00 fee. You would have thought that it would have been spelled out on the booking page wouldn't you. I too have requested a refund from specials@ restaurant.com but haven't heard back. So it looks like I may be out of $65.00! BTW, I was suppose to receive a $30 credit on booking by their standards but only received a discount of $18.72! HRAC indicated that the hotel charged the fee, I called & they looked@ my cancellation and said they did not charge a fee~ Totally bummed...
UPDATE: Since posting this morning regarding my experiences. I have had responses from someone at HotelandResortCard and another email from their supervisor indicating that they would be refunding the $25.00 fee in 4-6 weeks.
I wanted to update this site to let all know that they were willing to listen to problems/complaints and deserve a kutos in doing so. I appreciate their efforts in making me a satisified customer.
I saw their sds about savings - how much you can save, but they really arent true. This isnt a dollar for dollar card where if your stay costs $300 you csn use $300 of your card to pay for it. Nope, its just thst you get around an 8 or 9 percent discount on published rates. Say the rate is $200, they`ll give you a discount of $19 per night - and charge your hotelresort card for that discount of $19. So when you buy one of these cards, first you're limiting yourself to Hilton owned hotels - in smaller towns, that's a Hampton Inn, no other hotels qualify. Second, you're actually paying for a discount, a limited one.
Actually, you would do better by buying a AAA or AARP membership for a lot less money and get a bigger discount. I did some checking, comparing savings by going to the hotel`s website first, getting the rates for my stay with AAA discount, and then going thru the hotelresortscard website to see their discount. IN ALL cases, the triple A rate was less money - hotel after hotel. With AAA you get 10% discount, with hrcard, you may only get 9%., plus theyll limit it the discount to $25 per night. They have reservstion room limits in some properties where they tell you "their" rooms are fully booked, and extra fees for this and that.
I'm so glad i did all this research before buying one of their cards. My first warning/red flag was when they said everything had to be done through their own website. When a company says that, it means they control everything - it's the biggest warning sign you'll ever come across. If you want a better hotel travel card, get a triple AAA membership. You'll get hotel discounts from just about any hotel, you can get travel guides, help with reservations, passport photos - an entire range of benefits. Ive belonged to them since i began driving. But non drivers can belong too. As for the hotelandreseorts card, stay away from them; it's a SCAM
Tip for consumers:
Before buying see whst you would save - go to your hotels website, check rates, and then check the rates thru the HRC site. And dont forget that HRC will charge your credit card immediately if you book thru them. And if you then try to cancel, youll be charged a fee.
By chance do you work for AAA? We only ask because you are making false claims.
I was trying to see if i could save money on a rental car using hotelandresortcard.com.
The rate on their site was more than $100 more expensive than the rate i found on my own online for the same car and rental car company. Even when you factor in their discount, going this route would have been much more expensive.
Interesting as we do not offer car rentals at this time nor in the past
AAA is NOT avail at all hotels and honestly there are times they maybe cheaper than us with their discounts and times not.
