I have used Groupon on several occasions for low value items and everything has arrived on time and in perfect condition. I then ordered a very expensive watch which was to be shipped from Germany but only read the reviews on this site once the order was confirmed. I must admit I was very concerned. The tracking no they gave me was invalid so I contacted customer services via email expecting a long delay before they replied if at all, however I was wrong and they got back to me within a view hours. They provided me with a new tracking no and then I confirmed that the watch would be with me the following day. It arrived from Germany very well packaged and the product itself is quite outstanding. It is obviously the genuine article, the manufacturer's box is stunning on its own and the watch is way beyond my expectations. I cannot wait for my husband to open it on Christmas Day. There are so many negative views on this company I felt it only fair to write about my very good experiences with Groupon.
I ordered a Nintendo 3DS for a really great deal: included a game and everything. After about 2 weeks of hearing nothing, I sent an email to them. They said the person they are getting them from ran out and they have no clue when they will be sending out more. Thankfully I was offered a full refund which will be credited back to my credit card. Still, that is taking a few days, and you would think Groupon could keep up with their own inventory.
ADVICE: MONITOR YOUR OWN INVENTORY AND DON'T SELL THINGS YOU DON'T HAVE
Ordered a product on Black Friday that I assumed was coming. When going through the purchase process I received an edit stating to update my credit card information to place the order as my expiration date had passed on the current card listed. Beware due to the wording I expected my order to be placed once the credit card information was updated. I did not want to end up with a duplicate so I attempted a call to the Company and was told the wait to speak with an operator was 1 1/4 hours. I should have known..the order was not placed and I got the "We are sorry lingo from the company." when I emailed them. They will not make it right. I will never order from them again and plan to follow up with the BBB and whomever I need to as it is apparent to me they need some customer service work.
Shipping is extremely long. I was charged and the funds removed from my account, then 3 weeks later, its still in processing. I contact support and they said there is no error and please allow another 12 business days for shipping then contact them. I contact them again and they said shipping and processing both take 12 business days. So that means 24 business days, or 5 weeks to receive 1 game that I even had to pay for shipping.
I purchased Little People Disney Klip Klop Royal Stable Playset it was listed to come with 5 princesses and horses. the total was 3 dollars more than on amazon, but that one only came with 2 so I bought it on groupon. big mistake! 11 days later I received an email stating that they made a mistake (falsely advertised) it, it only came with 2. I tried to cancel it and was unable to, I was told I'd have to wait and return it once it arrives, though there is no tracking info currently. so I get to pay to print the label, drive somewhere and return it, then wait for a refund. I have used groupon more than once, but after this issue and their horrible customer service NEVER AGAIN
I ordered a coupon for a Christmas tree which was to be delivered to my house. I confirmed the delivery time, gave them 2 contact numbers to reach me regarding the delivery and waited more than 6 hours. They did not deliver as promised and did not call. When I tried to reach the vendor (Five Star Christmas Trees) I received a message saying they had completed deliveries and were no longer answering the phone. I have received no reply to my complaints to Five Star or Groupon
Bought 2 a spa massages as a gift everytime they tried to redeem it they would get told no appointments for groupons at the moment from the salon. The groupon eventually expired I called to get my money back and was told no from groupon, because it's expired. How do you partner and support companies that do not allow consumers to use their groupons. Terrible business.
I was really surprised to find so many negative reviews. I've been using groupon pretty much since it was established, and had only great experiences so far. I use it for my favorite restaurants, a few shops, and mostly for discount goods. The last thing I got was a down comforter for my husband, that was only for a fraction of price and was delivered super fast. I also ordered Argan Oil, that came in a really LARGE bottle, and was very good, and many other little things. I cannot complain so far and will be using this site again.
Bought Michael Todd Face-Lift Cream through a site. Got serious skin irritation but Groupon rejected to refund as it was finial sale. Do not buy any goods here since there is no guarantee product quality at all.
We are a large family and saving money is very important. We have been getting the best deals here in AZ by using Groupon. We have saved on golf, family recreation, and resturants. I highly recomment this site. So far we have never had any problems and are very happy with using them.
Bought a groupon good as a gift for my grandchild's birthday present who lives in another state. groupon forwarded my billing address to the shipper instead of the the shipping address I provided. The service rep told me it happens do to their system but it's my fault because I didn't catch the error sooner and now they can't fix it, even though it hasn't shipped. All they are willing to do is refund my money after they receive the item back.
For the 2nd time in several months, I've gotten this email from them well over a month from when I had ordered the products:
I can't apologize enough for the delay. At this point, I can no longer guarantee the shipment of your item, so I've issued you a full refund and removed this Groupon from your account. Please allow up to 10 business days for this to be reflected on your statement.
I'll never order from them again.
I used it once for a coupon for parking and it came in handy. I would say most of the deals are good, but probably wouldn't go to the places if they didn't have the discounts. I think it's okay, but it's missing a lot of things you know and love to go to. It's not always easy to find something you want here. It's just ok.
I had written a negative review on Groupon but I had to retract it because they took care of the issue big time.
I purchase a couple of canisters of protein Nov 2nd. Nov 19th i was curious of why i havnt received any of my canisters. I checked MyGroupon to track shipment and it read Opps wasn't able to track. On the 20th the products disappeared off my Groupons like i never purchased them. I checked my credit card and i was never credited back for the products, so i sent an email to groupon service center. In return they replied back that they were not able to obtain inventory and i should be getting a refund in 10days. 10days went by, i sent another email. They replied that they sent me an email on the 15th and i must not of received it and to check my spam. I check my emails daily and never received anything. I sent another email. Long story short, i received an email on the 27th saying that i was refunded successfully on the 15th an if not i should contact my bank. My bank was contacted and will fight for my money that they took and never refunded.
Bought groupon coupon for oil change-supposedly unlimited for a year. I was so stupid-should have figured this is too good to be true- additional fee for synthetic oil, additional fee for labor, additional other fees-waste disposal & another dubious fee so total is $87 and have to pay additional $52 for EACH oil change- Toyotal Dealership charges$49.99(tax included) in Ca . Groupon could be a rip off-particularly for services and I read other bad reviews for products too.
I order a pair of golf shoes from Groupon goods to send to my son in Afghanistan for Christmas, where he is serving our country. I did not notice that the terms stated that the item could take 12 business days to arrive. That was my mistake and I am completely willing to be accountable for that. An email arrived with a tracking number from the company that ships the shoes. After checking the status unsuccessfully for several days I called Groupon. I was told it was the wrong tracking number. I requested the correct tracking number so I would know when, and if, it was going to arrive. I was told they did not know the correct tracking number and did not know the name of the distributor sending the merchandise. I asked for the supervisor who told me the same thing. I told her it was not acceptable and she stated she would speak to the Groupon employee who deals with this distributor and call me back. She called me back and left a message stating the specialist that deals with this distributor did not know the name of the distributor or have the correct tracking number. She gave me a $20 credit in my account. I don't want a credit I want a tracking number! Is that too much to ask of a company like Groupon? Sorry doesn't help me track my order. My son deserves to have a nice Christmas, especially while in a war zone risking his life to keep us safe.
I don't think I'll be purchasing from them again. I was late with the Groupon fad. I recently found it on the web advertising $5 off any purchase of $15+. I went to buy an American Apparel voucher ($20 to spent $40 at the store). I didn't realize there were two and I bought the "online only" one by accident; this was my own fault. They refunded me my money but it was a credit for $15 (due to the $5 off coupon). I tried to exchange and buy the correct voucher, but I was asked to pay the entire $20 again and they didn't let me just exchange and pay the $15.
I entered my card info to pay the other $5 while the other $15 refunded was "Groupon credit", and first time I submit my order, it said there was an error. This was because I had no money on the card so I transferred more than enough. Second submit: I got an email saying there was an error for my order. Checked my bank account and there's a pending transaction for $10.
So basically, I got charged twice, didn't get my voucher for AA, and on top of that, they didn't give me my $5 off because the deal expired but they refunded me the $15 when they could've just switched the vouchers for me. The only reason why it expired was because when i contacted them, they replied to me the day after. They could've just subtracted the $5 since there's proof I used it, but I was pushed to use another $5 which then gave me my bank account problems.
This site SUCKS!
I just purchased an item on Groupon. The expiry date advertised is NOT AT ALL the expiry date on the coupon. When I called customer service, the guy, Khaled, pretty much told me to deal with it.

I asked for a refund for a trip that I had to cancel. If you book a trip through groupon and have to cancel it, don't expect a refund right away. I had to pay an additional cancellation fee on my credit card before I was given a refund code. I then had to call groupon and give them the refund code. Groupon had to then contact the travel agency to make sure it was approved by them. I was told this would take 3-5 business days. On the fifth day I contacted groupon but they hadn't processed it yet, even though they promised me. I was also told it would take 3-10 more business days to see the refund on my credit card. I will wait the 3-10 days and then change my review.
I bought a tv from Groupon, and the thing stopped working within 5 months.
When I contacted them, they told me that it wasn't their problem and they use 3rd party vendors. Tough luck.
NO. That's NOT how it works! YOU! GROUPON represent these third party vendors and there should be some sort of recourse.

GROUPON - ISN'T ALL IT SAYS IT IS: I received a promo from Groupon saying 53% off Dallas Mavericks tickets for sections 101/124 row Y for $35 each. Five days later when I received the actual ticket voucher the seats were in section 319 row H which is at the top of AAC. I called Groupon to express my concern and request a credit. I spoke to a rep and supervisor and they both said "NO, nothing we can do." DO NOT BUY TICKKETS FROM GROUPON. #baitandswitch
I bought the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 deal on the 1st day it was open and my card was charged. My tracking status was never updated and then I received a "before it's too late" email for the same one. I sent an inquiry to their customer service which states a maximum 1-day turn around. 4 days later I finally hear back from them that my order was canceled and they sent a refund. I did NOT cancel it, I wanted the deal and they piddled around for 4 days to respond so it was too late for me to get the deal. Horrible customer service, horrible interaction, I'll be canceling my Groupon account
Do NOT purchase travel/hotel deals with this company. You will not be able to make last-minute changes or cancellations. The best you'll get is 72 hrs and that's ONLY for cancelling. You cannot CHANGE your reservation under any conditions....even though they'll tell you to "contact the merchant directly". Well, the merchant (hotel, etc) can't do anything because it was a 3rd party purchase. Hence, you're out the total amount you paid.
I put 4 stars but it's really about average for me. I did find some great deals on a few trips, some restaurant coupons, and movie stuff. I admit, that in my early uses of the site I got bit by my own oversight and not reading the fine print about how/when to use.
I have been caught with a few I didn't use for a variety of reasons and one time was an instance I had to reach out to Groupon. Customer service took a while to respond but I do say that they took care of my groupon and credited because the vendor was awful.
I feel a lot of times Groupon doesn't offer the right things when I need them nor do they seem to always choose the best vendors to hold the groupon for. Can't totally put that on them but I will to some degree.
All in all its' been a cool concept with some good success for me, and some failures but I would recommend giving it a try. Just be sure to be smart about things and read the full details of how you have to use the Groupon and if there are any restrictions.
I hate you groupon!! I ordered a perfume on Oct 24, 2013 they gave me tracking number that still not working until now Nov 15, 2013, I called them yesterday and they told me that " it may be delivered one of these days" but she willl give me a refund even if I will receive it (she's not 100% sure) that's why I accepted the refund. I had another perfume purchase I made on Oct. 28, 2013 that until today I haven't received a shipping confirmation which doesn't work, I noticed that my order that day doesn't appear in "my groupons" which I didn't mind, I also asked the customer service and she told me that groupon refunded my money which it should be in my bank account right now, I asked her "why did groupon refunded it without my permission? I didn't receive any email informing me that the item is out of stock ( which I order that perfume day 1 it was posted) She told me that in their system she can see that groupon send me an email. Nov. 5, 2013 which is I really didn't receive any email, she told me maybe it's in my spam which is ridiculous, groupon keeps sending me their everyday deal which I constantly receiving. If her statement is true why until now there's no refund on my bank account and it has been 7 business days already since yesterday I called them.. Get lost!! Groupon!!!
I don't agree with the idea, or what I think is their idea. Get a heard with you to do the same and maybe you will get a good price, in theory! I tried once and my city break plans for Dublin felt apart.
I will never buy on Groupon again. There was a deal with anyone could get a $10 Starbucks gift card for $5. Their system allowed me to buy multiple Starbucks Groupons with different account. However, after I tried logging into my accounts after I purchased them I found out Groupon closed every one of them. In two accounts I had applied a $100 Groupon gift card. Groupon gift card must be applied to one's account. They are not typical gift card where the remaining balance remains on the card. Moreover, on the accounts I used my credit card, Groupon emailed me saying they were cancelled and I would get a refund, but they still charged me. I had to contact the $#*!s and they finally refunded my credit card. But they would not get me my gift card balance back. I am out $200 from Groupon.
They are a bunch of thieves. BEWARE.
I have spent over $200 on a groupon for a company that didn't even want to honor it. The company doesnt return or answer any calls..therefore making the groupon worthless. Groupon puts the blame back on the company. Your better off spending more money and going through the company directly rather than wasting your time with Groupon who refuses to issue a refund or try and fix this issue. In the end you'll probably even save more money by avoiding groupon!
Good luck getting your purchases in the "2 1/2 weeks" delivery period. Going on a month now and I haven't even gotten a shipping notification. Customer service is a joke. You send an e-mail and they tell you they received it and will respond, but never do. Will think twice about ordering anything ever again.
I bought a ring on Groupon, that was from £70 odd down to £10.. the ad stated it was real silver, with swarskovi elements in the diamond (if thats how you spell it!) I received the ring in good time, and it looked amazing! However... the ring (after wearing it for about 20 mins) turned my finger green and has now after 3 days, started to turn bronze (looks a bit like rust). There is no way this ring cost £70 odd pound and is definately not real silver!! I then read the little note I had in the box, and it was made in china, even though the page stated america!! So dissapointed and I will NOT believe anything I read on groupon again! The ring is now in the bin!!! Not pleased watsoever, I would research the products first before buying as they say they are dearer than what they really are so you think you are getting a great deal.... will not be buying from Groupon again.
This review is more for customer service. I bought a groupon for my father to get a massage. Immediately, we called the center to make an appointment. They only have availability from 9am-11am Monday-Friday for the next 6 months (which is conveniently when the Groupon expires). Well, my father has a full-time job and can not take off work for the massage, so I promptly called Groupon requesting a refund. They said no, but they I could use the amount paid for as long as I wanted. WHAT? I explained that I had been a loyal Groupon customer since its inception, and that I was disappointed. They told me that I could delete my account with Groupon if I wasn't happy. What kind of customer service is that???? I told them to go ahead and do that. Now, my loyalty is with Living Social and Lifebooker :)
Groupon has some good deals, but watch out there are some incredible ripoffs.
I just recently used one for Boulevard 18 in New Canaan, CT and paid $157 for "3 course dinner for 4 WITH A BOTTLE OF WINE" , but it only included 2 appetizers, and 2 desserts, HOWEVER THE BIG RIPOFF IS THAT IT STATES THAT YOU CAN HAVE ANY BOTTLE OF WINE UP TO $36, BUT THE FACT IS PRETTY MUCH ALL THE WINES ON THE MENU ARE ALL PRICED BETWEEN $50 AND $100 PER BOTTLE AND THEY HAVE ONLY FRENCH WINES. I WAS TOLD I COULD ORDER WINES BY THE GLASS, BUT AT THE END OF THE MEAL IT TURNS OUT THAT WINES BY THE GLASS DO NOT APPLY THE $36 DEAL.
I purchased a Set of 8 16 oz Guinness Vintage Pint Glasses from them and it was never delivered and after 1 month of waiting and contacting them..they told me they made a mistake and the product was not in stock at the time of sale....they refunded my money after 10 days which practically means they held my money for about 1 month and a half and god knows how many people had the same problem...this means stealing money and working with other peoples money....i will take this matter to a legal step and see what they have to say about that....i highly warn people not to purchase anything from GROUPON
My shopping experience with Groupon has been good so far. But I have been having problem with one of my purchase recently made me lost confident on the credibility of their partners.
They provided me an appointment to deliver the package, it was on Tuesday, Nov 5th, at 13:00 - 14:00 but they didn't come. I called the service number and one lady replied me in a rude manner that they were obliged to put hours on the notification paper but it didn't mean they had to be precisely on time. I found the reply ridiculously irresponsible.
I managed to ask for another appointment for the delivery and she told me it would be on Thursday, Nov 7th, anytime during the day. I waited until 16:00 in the afternoon and nothing arrived. I called again and another person told me that the package was in transit. At 18:00 nothing came, I called again and the office was closed.
I am not sure if I will ever receive the item that I bought with this kind of customer service.
My experience with Groupon occured after an experience with the online course provider that I purchased a voucher from.
I purchased a Groupon deal (which I will NEVER do again btw- so dodgy) for a course with e-careers the other day after reading all of the fine print. The fine print stated that it would cost $15 extra for certificates to be provided, and exam fees were not included. I went to e-careers to find approx exam fee costs and could find nothing. I called the customer service to find out how much extra and was told that that information would be sent through once I was enrolled, but they didn’t have the exact costs at that time. I was placated by an English voice, and polished customer service. Dumb of me.
I received my voucher and went in to redeem on their website. I got an email saying I would receive a confirmation email and further enrollment information in 3 days time.
The night of redemption I get an email from ‘Scott S’ saying the following: “I understand that you have recently redeemed a course with us. The reason for my email is that we have the foundation exam at $440.00. And we have had a customer who has paid a deposit of $130.00 but is unable to pay the remaining balance,This means we have the 1 foundation exam at just $310.00 instead of $440.00′.
I write back and ask for all additional costs, and he calls me straight away and tells me that there is a further exam fee of $800+’ plus a coursebook that MUST be bought through them, and then he tries to get me to pay the $310 right there and then quite pushy, as the deal will run out as soon as we are off the phone! I’m not even enrolled or have yet to see anything related to the course at this stage. I refused and he was quite rude saying ‘this is what you signed up for’. I disagreed and said I needed more time to think as I was unprepared for these significant costs so suddenly. He then told me that I had 6 months to complete the training and pay all extra costs before I got anything from them. Left a sour feeling in my mouth. I am now going through a PayPal dispute to see if I can get my money back as I think that the fine print was misleading and really don’t appreciate the “car salesman” to “shakedown” tactics used by e-careers.
The rude little cow from Groupon customer service told me that it was "my own fault so they wouldn't refund me for 'change of mind'" and that next "time I should make sure that I call the vendor and get the answers before I commit to buy." when I told her what the vendor had said to me on the phone, she sid "I doubt that!'" and basically, it is "no longer our problem". Never again!
I have orderd numerous items from Groupon. I a couple of things I was not happy with, but was immediately issued a return label and a prompt response from customer services. I literally get 1-2 packages a week from them and have had wonderful luck.
I had wrote the wrong address when purchasing 3 products from groupon instead of 585 I wrote 586. so i thought i would contact them, I fist contacted them through e-mail then It told me it will take at least 1-2 days for a response so i contacted them via phone. the woman i spoke to (Kim) was a very depressed person. you could hear it in her voice she wanted to be home in her bed or something much lazier voice than Morgan Freeman. She had told me she changed the delivery address on two parcels but not on the most expensive one because that had already left the warehouse. she offered me no support after this. I asked for a tracking number, I received no response she carried on to another subject, I then asked if she can contact Royal Mail and have them amend this. she replied with "Data Protection Act". So i left it at that. I then receive a response via e-mail from Groupon Malaysia when i had contacted the UK side. I have again e-mailed and i have received no response. I recommend everyone who does use groupon to double check your address.
My review is more centered as consumer centric, I would give it 5 stars for that, but I deducted one star because I do understand how hard it is for businesses. Groupon provides excellent deals, fantastic for customers, but for businesses they almost get nothing, might as well consider it a free sample because after giving a 50% discount to the customer groupon takes another 25% of what is left over and the business keeps 25% or in some cases less if their discount was greater than 50% to start with.
I however have found out of this world deals on this website and will continue to use it as a consumer. I do try my best though to re-visit businesses I liked without groupons just to support the concept of groupon, you know, the whole point, getting to try new things without paying full price and if you like it, revisiting the business.
I try my best to support small business when I can.
Can really find some good bargains on this site, plenty of offers to choose from and i have used a lot of times, would recommend!
Groupon used to be great and was slowly growing but now it's not about local restaurants and deals so much - just lots of junk you can find anywhere on the internet. I think a lot of the items are sold by Groupon themselves. ALWAYS check the actual retail price listed online for an item. You'll find that Groupon jacks the price up on their retail listing, which makes it look like you're getting a really good deal . . . NOT. I miss the old Groupon.
Do NOT buy from Groupon. There is no way to contact except by email. After several emails they might respond. The person who responded to mine was an idiot! She did not even read the entire email. I purchased a bike for my son for his birthday and first they sent the bike to NY instead of CA, even though their shipping order showed CA. When the bike finally got to CA, the seat was broken off! After several more emails dealing with this the email I received stated I would receive a full refund once the bike was returned to their warehouse. It was returned and signed by Groupon on 9/29 - I just received my refund on 11/1! After several emails inquiring about my refund they just kept lying to me about the refund needing to be processed. Finally, the last (not so nice) email I sent on 10/27 was answered on 10/29 and I was told they would go ahead and process my refund. WTF... they told me several times it had already been processed! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A HORRIBLE BUSINESS.
It really has some great coupons and amazing deals.They sell you the coupons of only a fraction of the price it would have been to go there alone!Amazing site,visit it now!.
I had booked a cracker purchase deal for my son as I was not in town for Diwali. The site promised delivery from Oct end to Nov 1st. To my dismay there was not delivery till Nov 1st. On calling on Nov 2nd - Diwali in Bangalore- I am told that the refund was made on Oct 31 and that the order was cancelled. I was not informed of this and on Diwali day now, I would have to request one of my friends to go out and purchase some crackers for my son, who is heartbroken as there were no crackers for him in the morning when other children were bursting crackers.
ABSOLUTE INSENSITIVITY ON THE PART OF GROUPON TO SPOIL THE MOOD FOR ONE OF INDIA'S BIGGEST FESTIVALS.

Tried to book different deals on two different hotels. Site simply doesn't let you. Called customer service and was waiting on line for ever. Finally got some customer service person, and she told me to install the app. I did and it was horrible. I am starting to think its all fake. Be aware.
I ordered a phone case I thought I was getting a deal.
I read the delivery terms but didn't actually think they worked like that.
1. Groupon doesn't tell yo uwhen to expect the delivery. The tracking is non existant.
2. their customer service department is probably the laziest and non responsive customer service department I've ever worked with. I sent them an email and some person (probably not in the US) responded with the most generic reply ...were sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you bla bla bla.... bunch of $#*!ing idiots!
3. you do save money on some of their products but their customer service and delivery methods suck fat ass!

I recently purchased a Groupon deal for a haircut & color at a nearby salon. I paid for the biggest package $72, because I wanted the full-color, cut and style. Well, when I got there, they informed me that I had to pay an additional $30 for a Foil Color. Whatever! I paid for the full package deal $150 value. That should have included everything (cut, color and style). I of course paid the extra $30, but was fuming the entire time I sat there. I asked what the price was without the Groupon, and they told me that normally it would have been $70 for the Color, and an additional $50 for the Cut & Style. So, with the Groupon, I basically saved $10! I am pleased with the results, but I am still pissed about having to pay an additional $30, when I bought the biggest package deal on Groupon, and thought I had everything covered!!!!

I have purchased over 100 items and been pleased with the majority of items. There were a few stinkers but over all great deals. A few items I was not satisfied with included wood items such as fruit shaped baskets. Read the fine print and checkout reviews inline
