Best gaming site and gaming wiki on the net. Operated by former gamespot employee Jeff Gerstman and company, the site offers all sorts of resources to keep you the reader or view in the know as well as make us laugh as well. Love it whole heartedly.
Another site claiming to be a "professional game journalist" site, when really it is full of the sort of crowd you would see on Reddit and Tumblr. I was banned from there recently just for heavily criticizing one guy's review of Final Fantasy IX (ZombiePie and his "Fighting Final Fantasy IX" posts) whose review had a lot of ranting on petty things like female characters being straight and largely motivated by a male that they love (I bet they wouldn't be complaining if the genders were flipped, they clearly have double standards). FFIX definitely isn't a good game and I have a lot of critical things to say about it, but the other persons critiques are mostly all for the wrong reasons, and sometimes they actually give praise to IX in places that they shouldn't and that I especially hated and would argue with them on.
It's just another hugbox for smug pseudo intellectuals.
As always, critics are amateurs and they always choose which games they think are good and bad. People on the message boards aren't very friendly, but still, IGN has the most bullies on any message boards of the web. The site isn't very formative either. That's about it.
Tip for consumers:
Don't go on any gaming site. Use official sites instead.
