  • UltraCell UK

I recently had the opportunity to learn about the manufacturing process of Ultracell batteries, and I must say, I was quite disappointed. It turns out that the batteries are 100% manufactured in China, with no factory presence in the UK, which means customers can never visit the company. What they do is import battery containers from China based on demand and then simply attach a "made in UK" sticker to them. Surprisingly, they even provide certificates stating that the batteries were manufactured in the UK, although I have no idea how they manage to do so.

Once customers discover this deception, they understandably sever all communication and refuse to engage with the company any further. Many companies in the Middle East, including those that provide services to their respective governments, specifically purchase these batteries because they believe they are made in the UK, and they even pay a premium for all the certifications. However, little do they know that these batteries are being produced right in China, just a stone's throw away from them.

If you doubt this claim, I encourage you to request a factory visit from Ultracell. I guarantee you'll receive a well-crafted excuse along the lines of, "We have confidentiality agreements with certain clients for whom we manufacture batteries, and therefore, we cannot allow any visits." It has been years since Ultracell has been conducting business in this deceptive manner, but I want to bring attention to the fact that for countries within the European Union, they are honest about the batteries' Chinese origin. This is most likely due to potential legal repercussions resulting from government agreements within the European Union. However, for countries outside the European Union, they continue to propagate this lie.

In conclusion, the manufacturing process of Ultracell batteries is deeply deceptive, and potential customers deserve to know the truth. The company's false claims of UK manufacturing and the issuance of misleading certificates are highly unethical. As a consumer, I find it disheartening to see such dishonest practices in the market. I hope this review serves as a warning to those considering purchasing Ultracell batteries, especially if they are seeking UK-manufactured products.
