I banked with these jerks for almost 20 years. A stray charge of $17 got through my checking to my overdraft line of credit without notice. It was 30 days late and they destroyed my credit and refused to help me. They told me they were doing me a favor by not charging me the late fees they assessed while I lose 50 points off my credit score for less than $20. Needless to say I will never bank there again ever and I have spent my personal time registering for all these review sites to warn everyone I can about what a garbage institution UCCU is.
We have had several accounts with UCCU for almost 18 years, mainly because of the hassle to switch and change all of the accounts and automatic payments. Several years ago, they made some significant changes to their online banking, supposedly to make it more safe. What happened instead was they made it ludicrous and impossible for a normal person to get access to their own accounts and money. They only give one person (my wife) primary access, so 2 people in a couple like us can't have equal access to their money. You might be able to see the problems that can come up in this situation. After trying to deal with it for the past few years, I'm finally done working with them. I've tried being nice, respectful, etc., asking that they help us fix the problems, and they say they will, but after asking 20+ times, and not getting any help or improvement, I'm moving my funds elsewhere. If you're a married couple, hoping to have equal access to you own money, DO NOT open an account with UCCU! It's ridiculous, and they aren't going to fix it! (Even if they say they will.). They are a joke!

I've have used 3 different banks and 2 different credit unions. UCCU is the best - hands down.
I just got a mortgage loan and they didn't sell it off to a big bank. Love that.
