In Feb, 2025, this airline left my wife and a plane load of passengers at Fort Lauderdale Airport, waiting over 3 hours in delay. They failed to inform the passengers of what was going on. It was not weather related. They refused to offer compensation. I have contacted their customer service, and they offer no excuse for what happened. They think this is ok. I don't. This is what you get with a discount airline. In Dec. 2024, they filled fir bankruptcy. They should not have been allowed to operate in Feb. 2025. Their customer service is arrogant. When my wife asked for compensation, their reply was, since she took the flight, they owe her nothing. By the time the flight was ready, there were no other flights going out of Fort Lauderdale to Orlando.
We were scheduled aboard flight 0125, Code PCTHQI, out of Jacksonville, FL to Key West FL on December 3,2014. Our flight on Silver Airways was scheduled to depart JAX at 10:00 AM, land in Fort Lauderdale(FLL)@ 11:44 AM and depart@ 12:15 PM. The flight was to land at our final destination@ EYW@ 1:18 PM. We actually reached EYW at 10:00 pm that night. Our 3 hour trip turned into a 12 hour trip and it was NOT due to weather! We could have drove to Key West in less time at a small portion of the cost we paid! And to top it off, when we arrived in Key West, our luggage was missing and it took another day and several trips back to the airport to get it. Despite multiple calls and filing verifiable interim expenses on their website, we were never compensated in any way. Not the 9 hours of vacation time we lost, not the additional 9 hours of rental car fee's, Not the cost of our resort for 9 hours, not even for the baggage cost were compensated. Not to mention that no one was able to provide us with why our flight was delayed or when it would be coming. Had we known, we could have canceled the flight and drove. But the worst part was the customer service! Or should I say lack of! We did receive an automated email on Dec 15 2014 stating a Customer Relations Team Member will review your information and get back to you soon. (usually within 72 business hours)... I haven't heard a word back and I think 3 months is more than adequate time to have contacted us. That was my first trip with Silver Airways! Not a very good impression so now, I'm going to make it my goal to tell as many people as possible about our horrible experience.
