I really wanted to like this product. The website is easy to use and with as many advertisements you see on TV about this product, you figure it's going to be amazing. (How much money are they spending on TV spots? Every break, of every show…$$$$$)
I decided to give two products a try. The website is set up to buy singles, doubles, and triples. There are also packages with all their products available. I did like they allow you to choose the products in the multi-packs. So if you decide you like one scent and need a few, you can add them all in without changing the price. Sizes of the invisible cream tubes are not large, however, with a 'pea sized amount' recommended you will probably get 6 months or more out of one container. The product is a thick style cream, meaning it goes on and then kind of cakes what you use to apply it as well as the area it's placed.
Cost of two tubes of invisible cream is $20 each plus tax. I think a 3 pack was $35 total. I wasn't ready for that kind of commitment.
Products are shipped without issue. Box is not inconspicuous, so hopefully you're not trying to hide your purchase.;)
As soon as I received the products I ordered, I opened them to smell them. First impression was not one of 'oh wow! I really like this'. Instead it was more of, 'uh. That's not really a smell I want to waft all over the place'.
First product I opened and smelled was Bourbon Leather invisible cream. First whiff is that of a dog's mouth. It smells like the gutteral slobber scent you get after having been 'kissed' by a dog. Then there's a slight hint of some earthy smell that is ok. Listen, this product stinks. There's a slight odor of sour cream that's been out a little long.
It's not as bad as the other one below. Between the two, I choose this. I will continue to give it a shot, until I decide if I like it or not. This stuff is NOT perfume. It is NOT something you would want to spread everywhere. Put it in the most offensive areas and nowhere else.
The next product was Mt Fuji invisible cream. This one actually caused a very visceral reaction. No kidding. I gagged. It does not smell nice. It does not even smell good. In fact, to describe the full experience of sniffing this I will paint you a picture: first whiff is yeasty.like a bag of bread that's about to mold over. Then it turns to a rotten sour cream smell. Floating in the soup of nasty is some random floral scent I haven't been able to place. Honestly, I don't want to smell it any more to describe it. It is putrid and I will be returning it.
In order to give the product its full dues, I used them. I used Bourbon Leather first. Honestly, this one works as advertised. There were no swampy odors after a full day of work and the product didn't put off any excessive scents that I would have to explain. I feel like, while this product isn't the greatest smelling, it also isn't terrible.
I tried Mt Fuji, knowing full well I didn't even want to. I hoped maybe body chemistry would change it drastically for the better. It didn't. Please, save yourself. My best advice to Lume and Mando: spend you advertising money on making products that actually smell good. This isn't it. Every movement releases a hint of this sour cream nastiness and makes me want to run away and hide. I can't. I'm at work. So instead, I have to get a whiff of death so frequently I considered taking a hand soap shower. I'm actually sad that you chose to call this 'Mt Fuji' since the real place is so beautiful. I'd prefer the typical swampy man smell I was trying to avoid with this product.to this product any day.
In closing.maybe the 'unscented' version is good? Bourbon Leather is just meh, but did do what they say it will. My Fuji is nasty. It's a nope.
