Darn Good Yarn is a great company that helps to employ talented and skilled women artisans in India.The products they sell are awesome, and it is alot of fun to get their mystery items and/or subscription services, as you will be surprised at all the variety they carry. If you like vibrant rich textures and beautiful colors for your yarns, this company has that. They also sell gorgeous clothing and accessories. I always get lots of compliments on my Sari skirts, and best of all, they are made from earth friendly, repurposed materials.

I placed an order for fabric woven labels on Nov 26,2010
Called them the same day to tell them what name I wanted on the labels.
3 days later they call me and tell me they need a name to put on the labels! WHAT? 1st sign of trouble!
3 days later they give me an order number! One week waisted!

Web site and magazine both say these labels will take 2-4 week to deliver. (not 3-4 months)
Ok it is now March 1 2011 and I have yet to get the labels.

I have called them and all they do is give me the run around~ Someone will return your call, one week later I called them since they never called me back!
Can we call you back? I said no I am not getting off line untill I talk to someone/ MGR. Well it looks like we never ordered the labels. So I then get in my mail box a new order number dated 1-27-2011.
And yes it will take 2-4 weeks so here I am more than 4 weeks later and I call again. I promise you I will call you back TODAY. Never called back!
I called them back again #7 they said my order was cancelled when they talked to me on Friday the day he promised to call me back and never did. I have caller ID there was no call from these people. Well did you talk to them today I said no but I did have a hang up call with the number blocked and they hung up on me!
Well that is why we canclled your order! WHAT I paid for these in Dec of 2010!

They then tried to tell me my address was no good! Funny I am getting their junky catalogs 2 since I first placed my order. Then they told me they were sent out I should have had them twice now. Never happened!
These people just lie one after another and I am still waiting for my order.

Unless you are looking for a good fight stay away!

I've been doing business with Jimmy Beans Wool for years, both in person and online. Their selection of yarn and supplies is wonderful, and their customer service is fantastic. Shipping rate is very reasonable. They've got great sale pages, too. If I've had a question, they've always been very responsive. I've been a customer for over 30 years and have never had a bad experience.

I did the Black Friday deal because there were some courses I wanted to take. It said you get 8 free. Well the 8 free are very limited. The courses I wanted are still paid. There was no indication of this at sign up. Luckily I only spent $11.50 ($2.50 first then $9 to upgrade to gold) because if I paid the actual annual price I would be LIVID. Going to turn off that auto renew right now...

Run away from this business. New ownership never takes responsibility for any issues. Emails and calls to customer service are not responded to. Stock is not accurate, and if you order something that is actually out of stock this company does not notify you. Takes weeks to get orders, but they charge you immediately, and you have to chase them to find out order statuses. If you dare leave truthful feedback on TrustPilot you get flagged, on Ravelry you get banned. This company is having employees, friends, and vendors write reviews on Facebook, TP, and Ravelry since real actual customers 98% of the time are having bad experiences. Save your time and sanity, just stay away.

As I was cutting I noticed a large portion of the fabric was defective on the fold.
Fabric.com said they would not take it back because it was cut-were they going to sell defective material to someone else? Probably.
They offered me a refund of one yard but I don't have sufficient material to make the dress.
They folks lost a customer today.
I would rather deal with honorable folks

Tip for consumers:
if you buy fabric be sure to open it and examine it carefully. they shipped me seconds (defective material) and would not take it back because it was cut

I have been waiting for 16 days for my product only to be told not to contact them again for two more weeks. I have requested a refund 3 times only to be told the name of the shipping company and it could take 5-10 days for delivery! We are way past that. Next stop is a complaint to the better business bureau. Stay away you won't get anything and have your money taken.

I had emailed and called Yarn Box back in February or March to cancel my subscription as I was retiring. Guess what I received another box. Called them left message and emailed them yesterday got an automated response that they respond in 24 hours. Guess what no response, so left another message and sent another email again today. Do not order from this company. Very poor yarns, overpriced and poor customer service.

I was a loyal customer but will now go elsewhere. The customer assistance is nonexistent. They fail yo send your order and then when you attempt to follow up after repeated emails finally acknowledge they are out of stock….while holding your money for weeks. No one responds to emails and no attempt to rectify the situation. Go to a yarn store who appreciates your business….Webs no longer cares
