I have shopped Sabon for years. I use to visit the Chicago store regularly as well as the New York store. (They have since closed all locations except 2 stores in New York). I stopped into the New York store and was going to buy some christmas gifts. At the time I decided I didn't have enough room in my baggage, so I placed the order online. I placed the order the day after Thanksgiving. The package did ship until December 12. Two weeks after placing the order.
I unboxed the items and put them in the Sabon gift box (which I had to pay for). And threw the shipping material away. When I went to wrap the items I noticed that one of my items was missing. I contacted customer service. After several days they finally got back to me to say -- I had to photograph the shipping box with the items in it in order to prove that I did not receive the 1 item.
I replied to them letting them know I had already gotten rid of packaging. After another 4 days -- we are talking less than a week before christmas - they write to me and say to take a picture of the items I did receive and that should be good enough to prove that the item is missing. Which makes no sense at all.
It is less than a week before Christmas - and the package is now gift wrapped.
I'm dumbfounded that they can't take my word that I am missing an $8 item. $8.
They have treated me like a crook since I told them the item was missing - like I need to jump through hoops, call and email customer service to get a free $8 product.
What I did learn is that I won't shop at Sabon anymore. They have lost a very long time customer over an $8 product. I use to go out of my way to order from them since they closed all their locations - but why bother anymore.
I am positive that I can find a product that is just as good (at the prices Sabon charges - I can probably find it cheaper!).

The receipient of the gift is going to be very grateful, but also disappointed when I tell her she can't order from Sabon anymore either.
I bought a voucher for Sabon nyc from gilt city, for a 100$ voucher for 50$. Sabon has free shipping on 69$. After adding 104$ worth of stuff, the 100$ "voucher" applied as a coupon code, taking 100$ off, but free shipping did not apply. Sabon NYC wanted me to pay 169$, 69$ on top of the 100$ to get free shipping. Contacted sabon, they explained the same thing. Do you know the cost of shipping at sabon? It is 19.99$ So i basically paid 50$+23.99$ totally 73.99$. Needless to say I will not be shopping at gilt city or sabon again.
