Had been with AJ Perri since 1983. Time for a BIG change.I was always told that they're very expensive but chose to stick with them out of habit. Not anymore - this last experience has put us over the edge.
1. Cold November - Been without heat for almost two weeks - claimed parts had to be ordered and come in for heat exchanger
2. Advertise emergency service 24/7 with a promise to get to your home "quickly"!
3. Called and waited listening to their inaccurate info (such as the 24/7 emergency service and to go to the website which also advertises 7 day 24 hour service) and cannot even get anyone to pick up the phone - held for 19 minutes then 13 minutes when called at 7:36 a.m. to see when the workers would show up. Finally got to a person at 8 a.m. who told me the switchboard had been open since 6:30 (not exactly 24 hr emergency in my book) and she didn't know why no one picked up! Then she couldn't reach the dispatcher (only one on duty) and said we were the first one up (have heard that before as well as we're to get a call 30 minutes before they show up - maybe there was an accident she said). Now 9:04 and still no contact.
3. Last week we were told a technician would show up between noon and 4 and finally called at 3:30 and was told it would then be from 4-8. At 7:30 I phoned and was told it wasn't going to happen that day. - we never got a call nor did we have a record of a missed call. Our phones were both right by our sides to get that long awaited 30 minute "we're on our way" call.
4. We had a spell of very cold weather and have my 92 year old parent living with us as well as my adult daughter who just returned home from the hospital.
5. No one at AJ Perri would provide me with names of top administrators with whom we could address our concerns. I wondered if there has been a change in ownership or in their protocol which hasn't been updated on their lengthy messages when you call. QA is mostly in name only. Terribly unprofessional way to run a business. Don't get sucked in. Ask your friends who they use and are happy with, and make changes if you need to. Maybe the smaller private business would be a better bet.
Not only has this been a dreadful experience after staying with this company for years, but it has also caused us much anxiety and a promise to research and do our due diligence. Definitely time for a much needed change.
I made the grave mistake of hiring AJ Perri to repair my air conditioner. They came out did the repair (the repairman could barely speak English, not even the company person on the phone could understand him). The AC worked for UNDER 24 hours! All for the low price of $1100! I called them back they sent a repairman who did speak English this time who said it was a waste of $1100 and asked if the repairman told us that- he didn't! The company said they will give us a credit if we hire them for a brand new system. I got their pricing and including discounts, and the $1100 I thew away their price was the same for a lower quality system. Of course, the salesmen who came out to sell me a new system was very nice but seemed like I was at a timeshare sales presentation- buy now and save, tomorrow I can't give you this price-BS
