If for some reason I want to invest in something other than an index fund, I usually go to Morningstar to do research on funds. They have the best and most comprehensive interface that I'm aware of to do fund research. Just be careful not to pay for anything on the site... most everything that is useful should be free.

Vanguard is in my mind the very best financial services company for 90% of Americans. The reason is that it's not a for-profit company owned by random equity holders, it is instead owned by its customers--that is if you buy shares in a Vanguard Fund instead of the profits from managing your money going to some equity holder on the NYSE, the profits go back into reducing your fees. For that reason, Vanguard index funds, and all products for that matter (ETFs, brokerage, IRA, Roth IRA etc.) are really the best deal around.

Charles Schwab was one of the first online brokerages, and it's definitely one of the better ones in the sense that they give you a lot of different services that some online brokerages don't give you. If you want to talk to someone, you can actually talk to someone. I think of them more as a cheaper alternative to larger banks like Morgan Stanley or Merrill Lynch. But I don't think it's a cheap for pure online trading as others like tdameritrade or Scott Trade.

I'm also a big fan of Turbo Tax. It gets the job done and is easy to use.

Home to Magic the Gathering, the best trading card game of all time, and Dungeons and Dragons, the best role playing game of all time. Wizards of the Coast has changed a lot over the years, but they still have some great stuff.

Yahoo's game site has a lot of great free board games, which are my favorite. Chess, checkers, backgammon and the list goes on. Everyone ought to check them out.

Rap Genius is the best lyrics sites out there. You can annotate each line of lyrics so you can see what weird lyrics mean, and it's not as spammy as the other ones.
