We bought a case of tomato sauce among other items. The box looked OK, but when we opened it and removed the cans we were shocked to find that all of the cans were all severely dented! They looked like someone had purposely thrown the carton against a brick wall! As tomatoes are very acidic, we couldn't risk that the inner plating on the cans was compromised. We had to throw out the entire case! Other purchases were OK, but our daughter also had to throw away an entire case of canned goods for the same reason. Attached is a photo of a few of the cans for reference.
Tip for consumers:
Beware of severely damaged canned goods, especially for tomato products which are corrosive.
