I found out very late in the year that under my contract I was entitled to receive credit up to $100 as a reward for completing preventative health activities during the year such as getting a flu shot, seeing my Doctor regularly, and properly taking my medications. When I found out (I had never been mailed a benefit card for this) I tried to register on line with the redemption company for my rewards. When I had trouble registering, I called them. They told me they had never seen this problem before and could not access more of my records to fix it. I was told they were restricted in what they were able to see of my records and I would have to call Coventry. I did as instructed and Coventry could not fix the problem at that time either. I was told that they would file a grievance so I would not lose the rewards when the year rolled into the new one. I have now been contacted for the third time after assurances it would be straightened out that I will not be getting the rewards as promised. In fact, on more than one occasion I was told it is an added benefit so really they are not obligated! I was polite, followed their instructions to the letter, and was patient. None of that mattered to Coventry. So now I at least know where I stand as a customer. They simply do not care. They acted like they were doing me a favor and that I should not be bothered about not getting what was promised since it was a "bonus" of my policy and not a required service. It is a part of my contract and they did not fulfill it - period. It was their suggestion to file a grievance instead of elevating it at the time and getting it corrected. I was assured that by doing this, it would save my credits as the contract rolled over into the new year. Now I am being told that since it did, my credits cannot be issued. I do not appreciate being lied to and cheated out of what I rightly deserved. I met all my obligations to them and they failed me in return. My best advice to anyone dealing with them for a problem or issue, do not get off the phone until it is resolved. Get a Supervisor or Manager involved at that time or you run the risk of being treated like I was.
