  • GoDaddy

3/17/22

I used GoDaddy email for years. They switched to Microsoft product for email. I had then a couple of emails with them and spent a long time online with them to figure out how to get the emails. In fact, I would log out of one and into the other and still see the emails for the first account. Could NOT get this to change. Talked to a manager and he had the same difficulty. Finally told me to go through another browser all together. EXTREMELY TIME CONSUMING.

Now on these email accounts I can't get emails to go into folders which is the simplest of all tasks. It's unbelievable frankly.

I am giving them 2 stars because they DO pick up the phone and they are nice, although they cannot resolve the Microsoft issues.

In addition, during the pandemic an old GoDaddy email account was DELETED and I needed it desperately. No recourse, and I was given very little notice. In addition, I had to figure out the solution myself. I would prefer to give them one star. Maybe I will.

Worst customer response time possible -- they will get back to me WEEKS LATER to say they know there's been a long delay and they hope my questions have been answered. They don't even bother to answer the questions. In addition to this, they charge me almost twice as much as the site clearly indicates I should be paying -- and I can't reach them so there is no way to clarify. I could not trust Vimeo less. I would just look for another provider. I need to do the same.

Recently we stopped the autopayon the Citibank Costco credit card for a couple of months. We called and put it back into force. But Citibank did not take the money from the account two months in a row, costing us almost $200 in interest! This has been my experience with Citibank long term--they are only interested in Citibank. I had been an early fan. Costco should change to another credit card company.

Oh, and the agent was eating (with great enjoyment) while I was on the phone.

I have had several serious issues with the product this year. If I put in an entry on capital gains and then delete it, it continues to show the capital gains.

The password reset system does not even work (I get the code and enter it and the system will not allow me to hit the continue button.) If you are dealing with investments, it gets much worse.

I hear they have new management over there and in many other ways the software which used to be a joy and a delight is now difficult and from what I can tell incorrect in the extreme. I will have to pay $700+ to have a professional put all of my work into their own software. I am using the advanced pkg -- Home and Business as usual and it is AWFUL this year.

Tip for consumers:
do not buy the product through this site

Microsoft is constantly trying to gather info, almost slimy in the process of getting you into their cloud systems. I hear the business news every day and apparently many people are falling for their game. I loved my PC and Microsoft for years. Now I don't trust them at all. NO PRIVACY. I AM SWITCHING TO APPLE ASAP.

Files are apparently being moved to the cloud without permission

I went to my Word and Excel docs and could not open them. I was afraid I had lost all of the files I had put on my new computer with the Microsoft Home and Student (July) software.

Here's what I found after HOURS of work. I couldn't open my Word and Excel files b/c they had been moved without my permission to the cloud. I think this must be a long term plan on the part of Microsoft to garner money from the cloud. I moved the files back to the local drive repeatedly and every time I did, Microsoft MOVED them to the following address: OneDrive/Emailattachments. This involves my privacy and I am beyond furious. Every time I change the default location to which new files should be saved, the software IGNORES me and keeps the OneDrive/Emailattachments address. I am thinking Microsoft's competitor is pledging to care about our PRIVACY.

Good Lord -- you hover over glasses and several spin before your eyes. Impossible to organize shopping. They need to learn from Zenni how we WANT to shop for glasses.

I realized last week when talking to the Comcast rep in the USA that she could see the last 4 of my social security number. I think that is an invasion of privacy since one of the reps could take the information and get into another of my accounts. The rep could not remove the info but told me to go to the local folks. The woman here had to escalate the request, but they took the info off my profile in a few hours. Otherwise I am not a fan, so I am giving 2 stars. By the way, they sent someone to my house to repair something who looked like a pretty dangerous character. Happy if they hire those folks. Don't send them to my home.

I did much of my shopping there this year. They honor returns without presentation of an ID, and I want to guard against identity theft so I do not shop where I am required to produce an ID upon return. Excellent prices and great choices. One stop shopping!

  • Home Depot

They now require some form of ID, which they swipe, to return merchandise. So I no longer shop there. I am concerned about identify theft. I have decided to buy everything I can from Amazon.

They also did a horrible job with scheduling on an appliance before I stopped shopping there -- they scheduled at the one time I could not receive the product, then brought it broken. The delivery people also hung up on me when I said this was the one time I could not be home. Unbelievably poor choice of subcontractors.

  • Amazon

Amazon is so user friendly, and they don't require an ID to return merchandise, which many stores are now doing. I don't want stores swiping my ID cards since they can be hacked. I am buying everything I can from Amazon. I also appreciate what they are doing for writers.

They now require some form of ID, which they swipe, to return merchandise. So I no longer shop there. This is ironic, by the way, because I am concerned about identity theft so don't want my information in their system, and THEIR system was hacked.

I downloaded the Adobe Acrobat 7-day trial. Suddenly my computer acted as if it had a virus. I ran Norton, and it didn't have a virus, but I decided this was slowing my computer down to a crawl, and I saw other signs that something was wrong. When I uninstalled, the software TOOK WITH IT ALL ABILITY I HAVE TO READ A PDF AT ALL. I am trying to write an obituary for a very close family member and need those PDFs. Thanks Adobe.

The help desk in the USA is extraordinary at CreateSpace. As of last week I started reaching a help desk overseas. I had several well-researched, extremely complicated questions. They told me when they picked up that I would have to just keep calling. I did that many times for two days and never got the US. I wrote a very negative review, but sent an email asking for help and got it via a phone call from a supervisor. So I am changing my review. This company has the best help desk in the USA--great people, cheerful, helpful and SMART. I am deleting my negative review. I hope, however, that they will continue to make it possible to ask for help from folks in the USA who understand the very complicated questions. I think that's why they have been popular to date.

I loved CreateSpace because they were available when I needed them, which was not often. But now not only do I get a foreign help desk that cannot understand very complicated questions about publishing, if I want to talk to the desk in the USA, they will not forward the call to a supervisor who can help. I will probably give up and go to another publisher. The overseas help desk say I can just call and call and call and see if I get anywhere, and I have spent an hour doing that in 2 days. I have never felt that the folks overseas answering my emails understood the complicated questions, so this is not an option. The folks at the help desk in the USA were phenomenal.

I purchased a Will for CA a few years ago and found out, fortunately within a couple of weeks, that one of they signatures LegalZoom directed me to get would have COMPLETELY INVALIDATED THE WILL. I have not trusted their site since. If they are not going to do the research to find out what is required for something this important, and what will invalidate the document, how can I trust them for anything? I don't. I am adding an m to the site name because LegalZoom requires an order number.

  • Facebook

I have spent over 12 hrs trying to SPEND money advertising on FB. I have consistently been unable to reach their Power Editor. Every time I am shunted back to my "page" where I can try again to create an ad without Power Editor. When I try creating an ad there, I am told again and again to choose a location, and no matter what location I choose, the msg continues to say I need to choose "at least one location." FB apparently doesn't think I have enough likes on my page to continue, or who knows? I would like a communication that tells me WHY I am being blocked. I find this kind of passive block unbelievably frustrating. I am giving up on FB again. I prefer Twitter. Everything on Twitter is simple. I consistently find FB systems to be frustrating.

I found it to be terribly difficult to use when I tried it a little over a year ago -- prohibitively so. I have a friend who uses it, so I intended to do so, but even the simplest things were terribly difficult. Pretty templates, but not worth the effort.

  • AT&T

I left ATT myself years ago. They offer me $300 or more periodically to come back. I never will. For my 90+ yr old mother I spent 5.5 hours simply to get her phone turned back on. Every time I got someone who might understand why it was disconnected by accident, they promised to send me to someone who could help me, and passed me back to entry level in the Philippines. AVOID ATT AT ALL COSTS. This year I have spent 10 hours simply trying to fix two of the problems THEY CAUSED THEMSELVES. The confusion there is endless, and they will simply route you from one department to another, telling you that this department can do nothing. It doesn't even matter if you talk to a supervisor--AT ALL. And there was no way to get an account online since they had cut off the phone--by mistake.

We need a way to vote for WORST American company. They would win.

I have been with Wix for many years. I have several websites. I had kept one for around $7 on autopay for over 7 yrs even though I wasn't using it thinking they would continue to honor their agreement not to show the banner ad that is normally shown on FREE sites at the top of the website. Now they have changed the rules. They are showing the banner and they will only offer a discount for a year. Disappointed in them. Thought they had good tools. Not worth it if they don't also have INTEGRITY. When I tried to reach another customer svc agent since the person was so disrespectful, every callback request I initiated was CANCELLED after the first ring. Vindictive and the company lacks integrity. I was going to purchase stock but long term this is a bad bet. Now looking for another company for my websites.
