I had a look at this site early this morning as I was looking to buy an XBox 360 Elite. Site promises up to 90% reduction on high street prices.
*** DO NOT be fooled by the advertising. ***
The way the site works is: You buy bidding credits (£10.00 for 20 bids). Each time you bid, 1 credit is used (50 pence) & the price goes up by 1 pence. Also, the auction end time has 20 seconds added to it.
Now, I've been watching this site for 12 hours & noticed that as an auction nears completion, other bids are made. There are many SUSPECT bidders who SEEM to bid on anything. Also, everytime a bid is made, the auction prices goes up 1 pence but BidFun get 50p per bid. Let me explain: say for instance you WIN an auction for £20.00. This means 2000 bids = BidFun get £1000 + the £20.00 sell price. Now if it took you 50 bids to win, you actually bid £25.00 (aklso, there are 1950 bid LOSERS. The chances of you winning are very veryu small & you could quite easily bid much money & never win.
This is a very very intelligent site. Luckily. I googled it & read the threads here before I bought credits. I have now deleted my account.
Let me finish by saying: It is POSSIBLE to win & get items cheaply. But it is highly UNLIKELY. There do sem to be bidding ROBOTS that bump up the prices ie: I have noticed 3 NAMES that constantly bid automatically around the clock (so far). A REAL person would not do this or spend so much.
Thanks SiteJabber for showing me this info...
