I've been a member of this site (and a few other freelancer sites for years). Recently I went to site again as I didn't get many (ANY) sales to see what's new.
I was now required to upload a real photo as part of their new requirements. My previous photo was just of a certificate, now I uploaded my real photo... I'm African American (black).

Despite being an approved member before (without seeing my photo), they reviewed my profile and sent me an email in about 30 min stating it was not approved because "they had enough persons with the skills I offered".

I decided to close that account completely and setup a new account with a different email address to add more of my qualifications. Added my same real photo and again in about 30 min got rejected for the same reason.

Wanting to prove a point to myself, I ONCE AGAIN created a 3rd profile. I listed the exact same skills and certifications as the last account. This time I only changed my name and used a Caucasian (white) individual's photo. Took more than 30 min but the very next morning, the profile was approved!

They have rejected a profile twice because of SKIN COLOR!

I understand the need for real photos on some of these site, however if your site & management are RACIST then you are clearly in the wrong business!

IT'S A SHAME THAT IN 2017 THERE IS STILL SO MUCH RACISM GOING ON. AVOID THESE PEOPLE!

This site is "free" to list your businesses however you need to pay a monthly or annual fee to respond to any queries. They then send you "fake" responses to your listing to entice you to pay the sign up fee. The closer it is to your trial period ending the more responses you'll get.
Listed twice and paid once to see what would happen. As expected, all of these person who were interested in the business never replied.
Avoid this site! Major scam!

Tip for consumers:
Beware. Those persons who reply to your listings are all fake.

This is just a total waste of time and you should NEVER rely on this site for anything meaningful. Any address you create here you can expect it to not exist in a matter of days. They purposely block your account for whatever reason/s they may have... trying to steal info whatever. So it's truly a waste of time.
The only thing you can use this for is registering to an "unimportant" site that requires an email and you don't want to use your personal address. You can create an account here and use it for the few min / hours that it exists until it's blocked.

Other than that... A V O I D this page and don't send anything of importance to an email address created here.

Have you ever been billed unexpectedly or too much on wix?

We recently had tried out one of their ecommerce premium features as a monthly trial only to find out that they were continually billing the credit card... ILLEGALLY.

After contacting them (poor customer service) we were told they won't issue any refunds for the extra months even though the last month was 3 days after being bill and they are "supposed" to offer a 14 Day Money Back GUARANTEE... also ILLEGALLY not honoring such.

We subsequently contacted an attorney in California as they're also based there. He took a look at the site and the billing layout and the following was determined:

The Automatic Renewal Law of California (ARL) which deals with the Business & Professions Code (Sec *******) states that it is UNLAWFUL to:
1) "Fail to present the automatic-renewal offer terms in a clear and conspicuous manner before the subscription..."
The clear and conspicuous requirement means that the clause must be easily discernible from surrounding text so that the consumer is likely to see it. An example of a clear and conspicuous renewal clause is one where the provision has a descriptive heading or appears in a larger font, capitalized, and/or in bold print.

2) Unlawful to: "Charge the consumer for an automatic renewal or continuous service without first obtaining the consumer's affirmative consent to the agreement containing the automatic-renewal offer terms;"

Both of these WIX is in clear violation of and we were advised to contact first the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and file an official complaint, failing that we have the full right to pursue it legally.

DO NOT ALLOW WIX TO CONTINUE ILLEGALLY BILLING YOUR ACCOUNT!

If you see ANY unauthorized billing activity, IMMEDIATELY make not of it and report it to 1) your bank, 2) file a complaint at the Federal Trade Commission, 3) seek legal representation depending (on the amount)

I came across this site online and according to their site it's FREE online listing. Within a few minutes of filling out the form they called to get details on the business etc. Then passed me on to Patricia (from the previous posts here maybe she's the only on that works here). After many questions from her she then said the FEE... not FREE is $69 USD per month. After I said it was above my budget she said there's nothing else we can do cause that's their bottom line. SMH
Basically they give you the same service Google gives for FREE! Go sign up directly with Google and just provide them your physical business address. They'll send you a confirmation code by mail and you'll be listed as a direct business on Google and loads of other sites.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH EZLOCAL! COMPLETE SCAM AND RIPOFF!
PS... the only 2 positive reviews here for this site are 1. A comment not related to the site and 2. Someone who actually works at the same company. SMH

  • Rakuten

10/15/19

Ebates was undoubtedly one of the best cashback websites around... however... since RAKUTEN took over that all changed. I've been shopping with ebates and eBay for a number of years and through them managed to get hundreds in cashback. Now with Rakuten every order somehow no longer falls into the category of their cashback and "not eligible for Cash Back at the time of your purchase"

Absolutely waste of time and no longer recommended. Ironically also been with Rakuten a few years ago with their Affiliate Marketing program and even then they never paid commissions and came up with various excuses to avoid payments.
Stopped using them after that and it's sad to see that they've taken over a once excellent Cash Back program and turned it into another one of their scams!

  • Vacations To Go

11/25/17

This place has some of the worst agents and absolutely most horrible customer service around!

Because of a previous review we read on this company we decided to check early and get details on a cruise before booking with them. We had to contact them on 5 different occasions for information... THREE times we were given THREE different quotes ONTHE SAME CRUISE (even though the actual display price never changed). Two other time they never even replied.

It's clear that they have no standard of service. How can the same company provide 3 different quotes for the same cruise?!?
The agents are have NO form of customer service training. It's like all they see is commission, commission, commission and if you're not ready to book immediately they could care less.

On a previous issue (like others here) we've been contacted by a Customer Care Manager and even the company CEO. This too was a joke... the manager kept referring to the wrong cruise line (ie he had no idea which line the ship was from). Then to make matters worse the company CEO said the company never received our email (not knowing we received an auto-reply stating it was successfully received). Don't lie if you know you can't cover your tracks... SMH.

This company is a complete mess and as indicated I won't book a car with them furthermore a cruise!

Cruisedirect & Expedia both offer cruise selection where you can book and see your exact pricing information in real time. No sending off for details and waiting for people to reply... then having to send off your credit card details... UNPROFESSIONAL!

Thank you for writing, Tom. I'm sorry to hear about your poor experience. I'm very interested in helping you however, I’m afraid I don’t have enough information to locate your customer record in our system so that I can investigate this further. We'd like to discuss your experience with you and want to invite you to contact our office at 800-338-4962 to speak to one of our managers again. Thank you and we hope to have the opportunity to speak to you soon.

  • Fiverr

3/15/18

Fiverr has had a SERIES of changes over the years... been with them for 4 years now. However they've implemented a new system that will negatively affect all sellers (unless you're processing quite a few orders daily).

For 2018 they've started a new MONTHLY REVIEW of your account activity and they check everything from sales, response time, reviews, income etc. So if you're not making up to the standard they set in sales your account would be automatically demoted and subsequently have to remove any gigs to fit into the new lower category.

I've been Level 2 since maybe 2 months after joining (cant get to Top Seller because that too is controlled manually by Fiverr and they "know" who they want and don't) and have well over 200 FIVE STAR reviews. During the last month I received 2 negative reviews not because of poor service but because both customers requested an addition which I couldn't physically perform. So because of something as simple as this they also downgrade your account.

So if you have a perfect record or if you're late with replying to messages, cancel gigs or just don't make enough you can go right back to the beginning as a "NEW SELLER".

I asked them directly about this and they've indicated that's just how the system is and basically it's up to you to maintain it. Oh and it's basically quite OK for you or your competitors to order gigs and leave negative reviews to get them downgraded too.

I'm sure this new monthly review was just a way for them to push sellers to make more money so FIVERR in turn would have a higher profit... however they failed to realize SIMPLE LOGIC... that if they keep demoting sellers (1) the same sellers would get less sales at a lower level than before and with less gigs, and (2) sellers would seek alternate freelancer site.

PeoplePerHour for instance has a similar rating program BUT they DON'T downgrade sellers and they DON'T reduce your number of hourlies (gigs).

Fiverr needs to one day get it right!

  • e-Miles

7/9/15

Been using this site for a few weeks and thought it was a great and easy way to earn some miles for travel. So much so that I also told my wife about it and she decided to join up.
She managed to get more miles than I was getting and got up to 440 while I was still in the three hundreds.
One day she logged in and her account and all her miles were gone... right back to 0!
She asked me to check it for her as she didn't understand why and I went through and saw in her account section and saw that all miles were removed (attached photos)
I immediately sent them an email to ask why and after no reply for over a week, I sent another. This took about another week before Latrice replied and basically asked for all the same information I gave before.

This went back and forth for about more weeks before she came back with the following:

"Members are allowed one e-Miles account. Multiple accounts is against our policy and miles will be lost and/or deducted. Therefore we will not reimburse miles."

The took it upon themselves to assume that I had two accounts rather than it being for someone else and erased all her miles. I have since replied to Latriece from e-miles stating that one account is mine and my wife has a separate account along with her own frequent flyer programs which she was trying to gain miles for.
Of course this email was once again unanswered. Absolutely poor company to deal with and avoid at all costs. Customer service is horrible both via email and via their Facebook page.

It's clear that they're liable to do anything to your accounts and there's no recourse.

I've learnt if you're looking to get miles it's best to buy legally through the airlines or other affiliate directly related to the company you want miles or points for. Most of these are just scams trying to market third party products via all the info filled in on the surveys.

PS None of the e-miles "partners" have mentioned of e-miles anywhere on their sites. Food for thought.

Tip for consumers:
Buy miles through reputable airlines or companies. Stay away from marketing scams like e-miles

I decided to try it to see what it was about... absolutely poor quality products, even for the low prices paid.
Had one product that never came and took over a month before Aliexpress settled the dispute to get back my money.

ABSOLUTE WORST... HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My account was hacked once (I'm sure by the same company who had to refund my money). I contacted Aliexpress on it multiple times via chat and email and up to this day they've done nothing about it. Even though they've indicated to me that my account email was changed, they've refused to reset it.

Don't waste your time with this site... believe me you'll regret it!

Tip for consumers:
Don't spend any money here. Much better places to purchase from with great customer service.

  • Aeropost

1/7/20

Start with the positive... Their store location and staff in Barbados (Airport) are exceptional at service and getting things done. That's, unfortunately, that's the only good part of Aeropost.

Email support is non-existent! No emails sent to their local office are EVERY replied to.

Online Chat is it the most repetitive lack of customer service you could ever experience. At no time is their online chat of any assistance. Last communication was with Sophya B who, despite mentioning to her repeatedly what the issue was, she completely ignored the problem. Even when I deliberately said that she was ignoring the real problem with the account she literally continued to ignore my comment. Absolutely RUDE and Aeropost needs to completely fire all useless staff like this as they are the ones on the front-line and continuing to bring down the company.

  • ViralGrowing

Don't waste your time / money on thier likes and views. None of them work and you get nothing for free or paid. Possibly just an email gathering site.

  • Airbnb

12/8/18

Avoid Airbnb at ALL costs!
As a travel agency we have heard nothing but negative experiences from this place over the past 2 years which have just gotten even worse.

Absolutely unprofessional company first of all. Had to contact them re issues on numerous occasions and if it didn't take weeks to hear (a poor) response I never got a reply at all.

Secondly, if a company (Airbnb) has to PAY people and agencies to leave positive reviews on their behalf, it says very little for the reputation of that company (Airbnb).

Lastly, there has always been a safety and trust issue with these listings on their site. Majority of them have turned out to be scams and hence why so many people end up with cancelled reservations. As recent as last week a female traveller staying at an Airbnb in Costa Rica was unfortunately killed at the same apartment.

If you're going to travel and the quality / safety of your family depends on it; book with one of the more reputable sites... VRBO/ HomeAway.

Update:
We've also had numerous complaints with regard to racism on this site as some members a) either choose not to reply to some individuals based on their ethnicity or religious background.
Their GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) are also not valid as two clients have their personal information being withheld due to Airbnb refusing them access to the site to properly delete and close their account. This a breach of a major EU & International LAW!

  • TollFreeForwarding

11/25/17

There's NO free offer to test! I've provided my details, credit card info and registered. You get absolutely nothing with that and they indicate that they'll charge you after 10 days.
The "My Account" option takes you no where either when signed in. Absolute scam and fake paid positive reviews here. Luckily I had my doubts and used an old cancelled credit card to register.

  • Tinder

6/23/19

After hearing all about the "popularity" of Tinder, and trying the free versions, I decided to try to Gold option... just to give it a full review. Not actively seeking but seeing how it was and how matches were.
After swiping in over 60 countries and cities, literally hundreds of matches (some I still haven't even messaged), here's a few things I've taken away from Tinder

After one full month of Tinder Gold they're a few conclusions:
1. Their customer service SUCKS (even for paid members). Had an issue twice where it wouldn't show any matches at all. Emailed them about it... 2 days later they replied with a basic thing to try which didn't work. Sent back an email to notifiy of this and I'm not able to use the service... they never replied. Eventually, I got it rectified via web search
So if you're paying for their premium service and you're not able to get it to work, you're on your own!

2. Lots of fake profiles! Despite Tinder requiring phone verification or FB and often banning certain accounts; they have one of the highest rates of fake accounts of any dating app!
Add them on WhatsApp and see if they're willing for a video call. This will eventually weed out the fakes.

3. Speak of fakes... watch out for scams. Key ones being: "need money for groceries"... "worried about my college and need money to finish or pay for a month"... "sick kids"... or just direct ones "money for photos or videos"

4. The latter would more come into a service which is another thing Tider is just used for. Primarily escorts and massage therapy are highly publicised here.

Overall if you're really looking for a "relationship" or even just a serious real conversation that "may" lead to something, then this is definitely not the site / app to use! If you're just looking to meet or have ONS with random people then this is perfect but nothing more.
Just be careful and make sure to see persons on video first!

After one month I've met no-one in person and I wasn't actively searching and... if i'm paying for a "virtual passport" why waste it swiping in my own location. Also, after having hundreds of conversations, 99% of them were unmatched or deleted from WhatsApp as an intellectual conversation can be had with the majority of persons that continues past 2 or 3 days. Only 1 match remains an active normal conversation.

Specs: M searching for F
Ages for the review: 23 - 50
Countries: Worldwide (USA, Canada, Caribbean, South Amerca, Central America, UK, Europe, Africa, Philippines, Russia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Fiji, Hawaii, Australia... I'm sure I've missed a few remote countries in this list)
Final stats: 82 matches open chats and 7 unopened

  • Taha Nakış Uniforma

6/18/19

Absolutely NO customer support / service. Tried to contact this company for over 3 weeks... messages. Emails... direct to their phone and not one reply. I don't know how the quality of their work is but if the service is any justification then it's absolutely not worth it. Would gladly spend a few hundred USD more at another company than deal with Taha Nakis!

  • MagicJack

3/1/20

First off let me start with the HORRIBLE customer service!
Which leads to the second thing... their app worked good for less than a year till I heard people saying they were trying to reach me and they couldn't get through. Tested it for myself and sure enough I was paying for a service and it wasn't working... who knows for how long!

I contacted their live chat (Rosa) and explained the problem. It's clear she was in no way technically minded and offered many basic things. However not knowing the problem I did all of those and none worked one after the other. She then gave me a speed test to do and while it was running I had to go back to her because of her impatience "haven't heard you for a while". So the last part of the test didn't finish. So she then "assumed" this was why it was not working. I told her my internet is the same as it has been for years and it's only recently that MJ stopped working. I said I'll do the full test again if she gave time for it to complete. Did that and by the time I got back she disconnected. RUDE INADEQUATE STAFF!

Anyway... so I'm still paying for a service that's not working and MJ has staff that can't help.

  • Instavest

6/13/19

This developer is certainly trying but their UI is a complete waste of time. Think of something written by a Commodore 64 but in 2019... nothing on this site works or does what it's supposed to do.
Don't waste your time here!

  • CBC BARBADOS

4/11/19

This is the literally the only local TV station for Barbados. So all local news and basic programming runs through this company. The website they have set up shows basic things throughout the day including the news.
Unfortunately they seem to have the same budget for their website like they do in their profits... zero! They website shows more Google Adsens advertisements than anything else on banners all over the page. Then when it's actually time for imporatnt telecasts like the news, the poor system they have in place can't handle the traffic and it's either buffering, "live stream ended" or just not on. This is with download speeds in excess of 30MBs! Poor excuse for a local company.

If you want local news or events it's best to use the Barbados Today Facebook page.

  • Central Bank Of Barbados > Home

1/28/19

We have been operating a business in Barbados for just over 5 years and due to expansion there was a need to open another location (in another country).
Due to a VERY POOR ECONOMY; Barbados has virtually NO foreign reserves and we were told that to wire any of OUR Barbados currency to another country... ie a foreign currency, we would need to apply to the Central Bank of Barbados for approval.

This was done via an official letter and the truly unprofessional staff working there received the letter and left a responding letter at reception without any notification. It wasn't until calling a few days later we were told a letter was waiting to be collected.
In short, the letter was received and based on their response we are unable to send any funds out of the country.
Barbados is financial prison for businesses or individuals alike. You are limited to focusing any activities within Barbados only. The BBD (Barbados dollar) isn't accepted in other international countries so it's either spend your money on the island or... spend your money on the island.
Things are currently so bad that they have also implemented a 2% tax for ALL foreign transactions if you have a local bank account. This includes online purchases, point of sales in other countries, ATM withdrawals in other countries... basically ANY transaction that involves a foreign currency. Financial Prison!
BEWARE! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
