I purchased an Engine Shutdown Timer from SP Diesel knowing that they had a Return Policy. Unfortunately, once I received and read the installation instructions and conversed with my local Landrover garage they told me not to install it as it would make the OEM immobiliser inoperable. OK, I thought, I need to send it back; there is no point taking the risk with OEM stuff and messing up your entire car.
However, SP Diesel don't honour their Return Policy (which is copied at the end of this review).
First, they ignore your email requests and skulk behind the WWW veil. This is just cowardly.
Then, having elevated the request to the PayPal Resolution Centre due to a lack of email communication, they are too unprofessional to even recognise their own Return Policy wording and instead make up new Policy for this particular request.
The Return Policy is pretty clear. They charge a restocking fee of 20%, which you have to assume is when the buyer has made an error as opposed to SP Diesel, and that "If you send us something back because you want to" then they appreciate some written confirmation.
Unprofessional and cowardly conduct? I'll let you decide.
RETURN POLICY:
"SP Diesel offers a satisfaction policy on electronic controlled products. Hard Goods are not covered by this policy. All items may be subject to a restock fee if they are returned. The amount of this restock fee is a minimum of 20% but may be higher if reconditioning is required. All questions about this policy should be answered prior to returning. If you send us something back because you want to, we may not know what it's about.
