The idea behind Sierra Trading Post is that folks wanting to buy outdoors wear more cheaply can wait for prices to drop for older models, 2nds and oversolds. Like many products made in China, the Chinese use dangerous chemicals, harmful to life and limb, literally. This company sells these dangerous products without any disclosure. If you want a refund, they will make you wait six (6) months or more. It just wasn't possible to trust this company any more for me, and I have stopped. Looks like they harmed a whole lot of other folks, too.

The couple who own the farm and allegedly own/run the dehairing operation are total scam artists. They stole more than 350 pounds of extraordinary cashmere from me, long length and very fine, about 75% brown, red and dark brown colored cashmere, the other 25% being white fiber. They held the cashmere for 2 years without processing it. Allegedly processed it at a price more than twice what they now charge at a secret facility where the fiber was trashed, lost and stolen. They refused even to send on samples of the mess they had created. I had technical records of the fiber length and yields, and these scam artists lied and cheated, threatened and ignored the plain facts. Their own goats are spotty and have never won any awards. They refused to get involved in the actual cashmere industry, yet their website gives them credits that simply never happened. You don't want anything to do with this business, and save your money and don't pay the $20 they want to come to their dirty, overcrowded farm. The dehairing machines, if they ever existed, are held elsewhere. I was forced to leave my 350+ pounds of fiber in their driveway. Disorganized. Out to lunch. Excessively spectral. There are no actual photos of real product on their website because the entire operation is only a scam.

Tip for consumers:
Total scam operation.

Yes, I was hacked and all the information on my emails and laptops was taken and everyone was the victim of hacking and identity theft. Because even identity thieves need to get credit cards and checks in the mail, somewhere you can locate the mailing address they are using. Here's what I discovered about Pentagon Federal Credit Union out of Virginia. They give cards and checks to any thief who has very simple information about their victim. Pen Fed Credit Union is the easiest way to keep stealing and boy, don't the identity thieves know it. Pen Fed doesn't care how many fraud alerts are out there about the theft and hacking. Pen Fed doesn't care how sloppy the presentation is. Whoever is running Pentagon Federal Credit Union is making Hay off hackers and identity thieves and laundering stolen money. Maybe the rules in Virginia protect them? Maybe the fact they are a federal credit union protects them? All I know is that Pen Fed gives cards and checks and fake banking platforms to thieves, and lots of thieves know it. If you've had a Pen Fed fake account holder try and grab $60,000 from one of your bank accounts, you'd know what I was talking about. And, the thieves did that AFTER I'd already written to Pen Fed three (3) times that the "new" accounts were fraudulent. Pen Fed does not care!

These government bureaucrats multiplied their government networks into a seedy cover for graft, corruption and the use of government funds, primarily tens of millions from U.S. AID for foreign leader pay offs while enjoying cushy jobs, luxurious rentals, excessive T&E and nepotism. There is not even the slightest value added by this pseudo consulting company with a fat pipeline that needs to be drained if regular Americans are ever to rise to middle class status again. Its core leadership is dishonest and drunk on their own power.

  • AFC Home Club

4/5/17

This review not only complains about America's First/1st Choice Home Club ("AFC") but about the advertising process where top reviews are claimed but cannot be read or disputed, and no new reviews can be made. Clearly, AFC spends lots of money creating alleged industry praise. Their online website where you go to read through all the details and get a quote is defective. Lots of redundancy and defects, and there is no way to print or obtain a final quote if you don't just simply choose the gold, silver or lead plans. If you try and add a pool, there are different prices, but no way to sort through and obtain a final quote. When you reach one of AFC's sales people, they refuse to give you a quote you can use in an escrow. AFC doesn't know how to go from the verbiage to the quote to an official quote that can be used. AFC's sales people are haughty and hostile. There is no customer service and no intelligence behind the aggressive advertising. I lost 2 weeks just trying to get to a place where we had a policy/contract. Couldn't get there and couldn't get past the rude sales folks. Maybe it works if you live in Georgia.

Tip for consumers:
There are competitors whose websites work and who can arrange to get you your quote/contract without any fuss.

  • Staples

2/23/17

Staples hasn't hired a manager or employee with an IQ over 86 in more than three years. Staples is so overpriced, it's a waste of time to even park in front of the store. They got traction for opening a business center for faxing, copying and business needs, then promptly stopped staffing it at all, or if staffed, staffed with totally incompetent, unskilled people with no customer service skills of any kind. Staples is so anti-customer, I've had to wait 45 minutes to use a copy machine. They have a new scam they are pushing where you are forced to buy a card you fill with money, and they hope you'll forget to use. The unpleasantness of the staff is exceeded by their demented managers whose bluster is so absurd as to be slapstick. I have not found even one half decent Staples store in the 4 state region where I need business services. I predict they'll close 50 stores in the next 6 months. Their competition must realize how lame they are. Worthless. Overpriced.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid this lousy store.

  • GoFundMe

12/1/16

Here is another group of pseudo high techies who want to be rich, rich, rich off the sob stories of folks who want and need things. The truth is that GoFundMe openly censors requests they just don't like or if their sponsors, like Big Pharma, tell them to censor. GofundMe absolutely will not support any funding request that involves real issues, real causes and important civil rights. These are the same cry babies who need a safe room as adults to spend hours on their adult coloring books and gaining expertise with Playdough. Snotty, smug and pocketing money on other people's sob stories without any concern whatsoever for protecting inalienable civil rights or those victimized by the despicable abuse and misuse of official power. GoFundMe lack any compassion, empathy or support for the few courageous Americans who are standing up for the rights of all Americans. Shameful.

Tip for consumers:
Find another group of greedy bastards.

GoFundMe I. – GoFundMe Rep

Hello, Susan. GoFundMe is here as a platform, for those in need to more easily reach out to those they know and gain support for their cause. GoFundMe does not fund campaigns, or decide who receives support - campaign success really is dependent on one reaching out to their networks. There is a 0% GoFundMe platform fee for US campaigns, to allow our customers to put more of what they raise toward their cause. There is only a standard payment processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per donation, allowing for safe online payment processing. GoFundMe truly does care, and our Happiness Team is available 24/7 to help with any questions or needed fundraising advice here: http://www.gofundme.com/contact

  • eBay

8/15/16

Disgusted with Amazon.com, I actually tried for the first time in 4 years to purchase goods on eBay. Good Grief. The advertisement for the goods was a total lie. Let me get this straight, eBay gets its cut for creating the marketplace, and, then, it's Buyer Beware. The goods were not new as advertised, and the goods were totally defective. It doesn't get much worse. EBay does all these tricky maneuvers to hold on to your money for weeks and weeks. What a bunch of deceitful, fraudulent players. What a lousy company from top to bottom, and these worthless "sellers" are frauds and con artists. Never Again.

Tip for consumers:
eBay is as crooked and dishonest as they come.

  • EPI.org

7/15/16

Economic Policy Institute (EPI) is a tool, a mouthpiece for certain political parties, politicians and candidates. Economic Policy Institute literally censors all commentary that disagrees with their heavily biased "studies" and "reports". In short, EPI violates Free Speech unless it kisses the asses of their handlers. I have read EPI reports for many years, and while I review all studies carefully, I have been shocked by EPI's willingness to include false data, false statements, lies and propaganda in their reports to support and promote certain politicians. If you go to EPI, you'll have no difficulty discerning which politicians or causes EPI is trying to sell. It's one thing to claim to be a nonprofit organization studying certain areas, it's another to be a Political Action Committee pushing some candidate's Agenda! Shame on EPI. They've lost credibility, and their open violations of Free Speech are despicable.

One more dishonest business that hides and conceals the relevant information. You try to send a gift or make a donation, and We Pay comes into the transaction without your knowledge or consent, and in the process takes a fee without your knowledge or consent. There is NO disclosure. Nothing is transparent. Fees are taken. You are screwed.

Tip for consumers:
As soon as the words We Pay or WePay come on the screen during the transaction, back out of it.

Honey Fund is part of a larger business effort to get the business of those organizing weddings and large parties. Their services are not transparent. Honey Fund and its partner WePay fail to disclose material and relevant information like hidden fees and charges. People send money only to discovery that without their knowledge or consent, fees have been taken from that money. I felt robbed. Had there been any disclosure, I would have opted out of the Honey Fund and We Pay rip offs. Send checks directly or hand the donees cash to their person. Do not use these Frauds.

  • The Mercury News

7/2/16

Mercury News is a mouthpiece for the official view, also known as official party line. They've gone online now, but don't try and write a comment as Mercury News censors and eliminates any comments other than the official party line, or the "story" being paid to be printed and promoted. So, if Mercury News leaves out the facts and the truth, don't worry, that's because the slanted version they print, leaving out important and material facts, is the official party line. George Orwell would be impressed with this self-appointed organ for the Ministry of Truth's Think Speak.

Tip for consumers:
Too bad Free Speech means nothing to Mercury News.

  • Airbnb

6/15/16

I was thrilled when Airbnb.com got started. It proved that competition is good for the market, but in the past year, Airbnb has hired a number of power abusing individuals who are promoting the company by siding with fraudulent, deceitful and dishonest "landlords". Airbnb employees are pulling "rules" out of blue sky and willing to stomp on any customer defrauded. I'll never use Airbnb.com again. The advertisers cannot be trusted. If the rental ad tells me how secluded and quiet the place is, and it turns out to be right above a major freeway, Gee, why was that information concealed? Same with the situation I just encountered where the advertiser was actually and secretly living in the garage for the rental. When I felt that there was a Peeping Tom creeping by the rental numerous times during the night, I learned the truth. Airbnb.com just doesn't care. No customer service, and totally apathetic about these fraudulent advertisers. I'm done with them.

Tip for consumers:
Go to the competitors's sites until airbnb cleans up it's act.

  • Jiffy Lube

4/22/16

I had heard from a half dozen folks that within 100 miles after going to a Jiffy Lube, their cars all broke down, requiring lots of repairs. I went to a Jiffy Lube in Northern California, and they failed to put in the necessary amount of oil. I picked up a quart of oil at an auto store, dumped it in, and drove on. I should have learned my lesson, but didn't. I went to a Jiffy Lube in Sherman Oaks, CA where I was working for a few days. I stayed with the car to ensure that something was done as in adequate oil replacement, but when I handed my bank card to them, they took several hundred dollars more than the overpriced oil and filter change fee. They scoffed and laughed at the LAPD and told me I'd have to sue them for my money they just stole. The LAPD officer walks in to a private office and comes out with a smile on his face and tells me to sue them. When I asked if I could walk off with a couple hundred dollars of merchandise it seemed that such an act would be considered a crime, but Jiffy Lube's theft of my money was not. This is a business to avoid like the plague. I wrote to their corporate offices, and that was entirely useless.

Tip for consumers:
Find another business for your needs. Avoid Jiffy Lube.

  • CuddleDown

1/9/16

I have purchased a lot of bedding, blankets and furniture from Cuddledown over the years, mostly by phone from their catalogue, now online. Cuddledown had a program that tested fabrics and contents, certifying the contents and purity. In a world where 90% of cotton is GMO, and harsh chemicals are applied throughout the fleece, cloth and fiber industries, it is necessary to find decent products for your bedroom and bath. Most businesses just lie and cover up, and that's who Cuddledown is today. The certification of its products is no longer credible, its products are made in China, not in the United States, and the fabrice comes from unknown sources. Its customer service is appallingly bad. Cuddledown takes your money because you had to provide your card online to get the order process, yet they refuse to provide a detailed order or order summary to you by email or mail. They then give your personal financial information to 3rd parties without your knowledge or consent. You can contact their customer service 15 times over the course of a week, and no one ever gets back to you or responds. When your products don't show up for weeks and weeks and weeks, despite very high shipping charges, you can't find anyone in customer service. When you complaint, Cuddledown steals more money from your bank account, without your knowledge or consent. Cuddledown charged my card 3 times despite failing to deliver any goods at all to me. When I complained that I received nothing, they charge me again. They are married to FedEx, so that's 90% of the problem with the nonexistent and unreliable delivery. See the FedEx reviews for feedback from a whole lot of unhappy FedEx victims. What happened to this company? Is this another formerly good company going down the toilet? Apparently so. It turns out some company bought Cuddledown a few years ago, a company that trades in online marketing. No experience with the product line. No success with shipping and warehousing. People who insist on the poorest possible customer service, and ug! The new owners are trying to fire all the Maine employees and move the entire operation offshore. The new owners intend to destroy what was a great American business, Cuddledown, and in the process, all that was once great about America and small Made in America businesses.

Be very, very patient, and then pray.

  • Dell

1/9/16

I wouldn't pay $5 for their laptop. Nope, I paid a lot more, and I just couldn't believe how lousy the screen, case and keyboard are. Worthless! Made in China and Mexico. All customer support in El Salvador, India and the Philippines. Dell appears to be in tight with Microsoft, so forced to go with MS 10 which is the worst possible operating system, thus, making the whole laptop worse than junk. I wouldn't use the laptop if Dell paid me. Since I had purchased two Dell laptops in the past 20 years, I have to say that the company has gone way downhill below grade. Just crap. I felt totally defrauded. And, even worse, it's been 7 weeks since I returned the junk to Dell and fully cancelled all parts of the Order, and still Dell hasn't bothered to refund my money. So outrageous! I would have gone with HP, but look at what Carly Fiorini did to HP. Shameful.

Tip for consumers:
Dell has the return, but will keep my money for 30 days. How is that legal?

  • MoveOn.org

12/11/15

Moveon.org got its start some 17 years ago. I was one of the first to send them money to support their work. I even worked as a reviewer of their "Mail" for 4 years, helping them to sort through all the comments, suggestions and opinions. For the past year or two, I've noticed that the organization has drastically changed. It looks like the fascist, closed minded, power tripping, ignorant Politically Correct are controlling the group and its vast data base, using it as a way to spread misinformation and propaganda. I am very opposed to censorship, so when I get petitions and messages that are all about shutting down someone whose views aren't shared by the current controllers of moveon.org, I shudder. I support Free Speech and Free Assembly. I support research and material facts disseminated in support of a position. Such a pity, but the power trippers at moveon.org have a very specific agenda, and it's blindsiding their data base with ignorant propaganda that serves specific political leaders. These ignorant, power hungry folks, with no respect for Free Speech, Debate or the Truth, have compromised a formerly progressive, but intelligent group.
