This site is how I learned javascript and python. It's fun extensive IDE is the best way to experiment and have fun!

  • W3Schools

W3 schools is my favorite place to learn what web programming languages have to offer. Almost all of their docs (from HTML, jQuery, to Mysql) have an interactive 'example' to everything they document. I learn by experimentation, so this is perfect for me. I get to tweak their code to see what works and what doesn't before bringing it into my project.

For those who don't know, github is a site where you can upload your code for your team to work on or for other people to see.

Most possibly the best place to manage and work with code in a team. Open source projects are free to host no matter the size, but if you want a private project, you are going to need to pay $7/month to maintain a private repo.
If you're a programmer and you don't know git, you need to learn it. Arguably the best version control on the planet.

I personally did not use their service, but for a good reason. Other site-review websites all have the same reviews: some 5-star generic reviews by new accounts and 1-star reviews by veteran accounts. I almost signed up for Dreamhosting because it seemed like a good deal, but they require you to pay for 2 years up front. Looking at other reviews, Dreamhosting's servers are always extremely laggy or down.

Just, don't get caught in a 2-year contract with a terrible webserver. Stay away
