I called B&H today and waited 6-8 mins and when the lazy slug got on the line he mumbled his name which I couldn't understand. I clearly identified who I was... then said I had bought a DJI Mavic Two Pro in 2018 and was never charged sales tax on that purchase, and wondered why I was having to pay sales tax on the one I was going to order today? He mumbled something like "lemme check on that for you" and he was immediately gone before I could say a word. Next thing I hear is a recording saying "your call will be taken in the order it was received. The slack bum had hung up on me! THIS IS NOT A RANDOM OCCURENCE,,, IT WAS HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE!

The answer to your question about sales tax is that in June 2018 the Supreme Court ruled (in South Dakota v. Wayfair) that states can mandate that businesses without a physical presence in a state with more than 200 transactions or $100,000 in-state sales collect and remit sales taxes on transactions in the state. Since then more than half the states have enacted laws or regulations requiring that retailer like B&H collect and remit sales tax. -- Henry Posner / B&H Photo-Video
