Well, if you're selling something, you won't get much for it. They are also limiting what they will take to the items that sell easiest for the most money (you know, the stuff you could easily sell yourself without their help...). If you were going to donate or toss it anyway, then maybe it would make sense to use their site.

Papercavalier is just another reseller that posts thousands of ads on Amazon for things they don't even have. When they get an order, they just buy a cheaper one from another Amazon seller, have it sent to them, and they resend it to their buyer. The buyer thinks it's coming from the UK, so they expect shipping to take a long time. They claim to have all these rare books, but they don't have any books. We DO have real books, IN STOCK, and we get a lot of orders from them, with their buyer's order number attached (because they are reselling). So if you see papercavalier as a seller, you know you are OVERPAYING and getting SCREWED out of money you could have saved from buying from a real buyer. Just another scammer...

Watch out, this is the same scammer guy, Rupesh something or other from India that has set up a ton of different "companies": including ergodebooks, amiventures, amitcj, FastMedia, ExtremelyReliable, etc... TONS of shell operations. They have NOTHING to sell. They post ads everywhere. When you (are stupid enough to) buy something from them, they just go and buy it off another site and have it mailed to you, then skim some money off the top (for doing basically nothing). Sometimes they just fake sending it, or send you something else, or tell you they will refund and hope you forget to follow up. They also will tell the "real companies" they buy from that "they never got the item" and cheat them out of the money--which is what happened to us. These guys are dishonest liars that have no sense of morals and will say anything to make a buck. They will tell you something was "lost in the mail", or "damaged and returned to them" or "you sent something different" or they need "to check with their suppliers" or "check their warehouse". The guy works out of his living room at his house in Texas. They keep changing their names so fast as they get throw off websites, it's hard to not get scammed by them. Beware! Oh, and if you google a bit, you can find an interview where this guy is bragging about his scam op and how he's able to sell everything, by doing basically nothing. (except overcharge you, and cheat us)

Tip for consumers:
Make sure to check the area code of the "customer service" number. If it's 281, then you know you're likely dealing with this company. Also, you should check their "business" address. It it's a house in or near Richmond Texas, you know it's these guys. Texas in general is a flag.

Amazon has so many FAKE sellers, it is astounding. Bennett Books Ltd (Covington, KY) is just another Amazon "seller" who has NO inventory. They post ads on Amazon for thousands of items. They have none. Zero. When they get an order for an item, they purchase it from a legitimate seller, either on Amazon, EBay, Bonanza, you name it, and have it sent to them, usually in Kentucky. They wipe it off, wrap it in shrinkwrap and send it out like they always had it. They will buy a "Good" copy and sell it as a "Very Good" or "Like New" copy. They will even re-sell stuff they bought "Used" as "New". We have had so many book orders from them, and it took us a while to figure out what their specific game was. They make their money by never having any inventory, and just posting ads for pricey books. If someone is stupid enough to pay their high price, or needs international shipping, they can skim money off the top, but doing basically nothing. If the book is in poor condition, they will make excuses like "damaged in shipping" when in actuality the book was damaged when they sent it. Of course it's against Amazon policy and dishonest and slimy, but they don't care. So, if you feel like overpaying for something that you could get from someone else... The key is the number of listings. If a seller has 10,000 or more listings, ask yourself WHERE are they storing them? They would have to have a warehouse. If they don't have a warehouse, then you know they are a dropshipper. If they are a dropshipper, then you know you are getting screwed, and all they are doing is what could have done--just buy the cheaper copy from the smaller seller who DOES actually really have that book.

Tip for consumers:
Make sure that the seller really has the item in stock, and you are not just paying for someone to drop ship or resell from another seller.

Ergode Books and Amitcj (seller name on Amazon) are total scammers! They have NO BOOKS TO SELL. Zero, Zip, Zilch, Nada! It's a guy and his wife that sit in their living room in Texas and list books for sale they don't ever have. Then when someone buys their books, they look on the web and find the cheapest similar one they can from a "real dealer" with books, and have that dealer send it to their customer. They pocket the difference, and do NO work, and NEVER have any book. That's why they email buyers to "make sure the book arrived safely". Because they didn't send it, and they don't even know!
I know this, because I work at one of the "real dealers" who has been getting their book orders to send to their buyers (with the request for no packing information or price information).
There are a TON of bookjackers like that on Amazon, including Chris's Bargains, Discount Books, Extremely Reliable, Red Rhino, Glass Frog...

Ebay is not quite as bad.
