I previously used this company when they were using the name Web Uplink. The bloke their can come off as a bit arrogant but knows what he is talking about. He's straight to the point and does not beat around the bush like most other web designers. It's also great dealing with a local Aussie and not with someone who is working with some overseas agency.

After inquiring to a fair share of similar "lead" sites like oneflare, I decided to go with oneflare as they answered all of my questions with ease, gave me the peace of mind I needed. One of my first initial questions was "how much am I actually paying?". I was assured there would be no percentages (which was what reeled me in), just fixed rate $23 per quote I'm going to send out. As well as a lump-sum fee to be actually listed on the site itself ($318/6months). My company Web Uplink is quite new, I'm still a one-man show, so i figured why not...

It's worth it i thought. Presuming it was exactly as they said "You'll constantly receive jobs, you can review them and send out your quote and all you do is pay once". Having contacted the other lead companies my biggest concern was, what if they don't reply? "We have a 'genuine customer guarantee'". Hearing all of these answers and the other 100 questions I asked, the staff member being great and prompt on his answers made me sign up!

Little-did-i-know… that per job fixed rate was STARTING FROM, sending out a quote meant I had to pay an additional $30 - 75 just to send one. Mind you, sending out a quote meant I was forced to go through GooglePlay each time I needed "credits" (a system which NOONE is able to explain at their company).

To top things off the LEAD itself doesn't have a rough price, a customer budget or any sort of useful info (will re-iterate in detail at the end), they literally just price it depending on the area they're in, how many designers are there and the amount of jobs coming in from there – which naturally gives them the ability to change the price, hike it up etc. at any point in time without warning.

One of the biggest issues here that wasn't explained to me was that each lead they get, there's a job quota on it that's reached within a 5th of a second of that job being posted.

Naturally, being new to the platform I read each word and request of the client before hitting the quote now button, only to be greeted with "This job has reached its max quota" and boom no job for me.

Over time I realized okay, well… I just have to quote whatever, the problem is I'm stuck going through GooglePlay for 2 whole minutes trying to buy credits (even with one click pay enabled).

The next drama was when I actually managed to send the quote and the customer did not reply at all. I requested a refund, only to be told by oneflare that "Oh, that's only for some other plan where you have to pay an additional $499 on top of that $318.

In short basically they have a great sales guy (British dude), who answers questions and gives you the confidence you need to whip out your credit card. But then you're plagued with hidden fees (which you can actually find online – often in a tiny bit of text in an entire article), where they are wrong is the fact hat it literally says call and find out more, I did … and was unable to find out more lol.

I did file a complaint when I received some sort of customer satisfaction call, I explained how many things are going wrong, how the app sends out of a notification but when I click on the notification "the quota has already been met", so what the hell is the point of the app. I have to sit on the site and literally hit refresh 180 times a day, hoping I get that job.

Mind you, the leads they bring don't include half the information you actually need. A job example would be: Revamp my existing site and fix broken link issue, I'm located in Perth. – This lead is absolutely useless since 1. I don't have a website URL to actually look at 2. Don't know anything about the client's budget 3. Neither does one flare themselves.

Oh and no they don't come up first on Google or even social media for anything I tried to serach/trigger lol.

The web uplink team really enforce their high-speed web design strategy. Our website went from 46/100 on google to 99/100 and in some cases 100/100 (and yes I'm talking about on Mobile). On PC it's always been high, now it's just a fixed 100/100.

I like how they didn't tinker with my design too much, they just focused on improving the speed, got there without breaking anything.
