I was on the search of a good voice over course that could cover the basic things you need to know about voice over. Also including the making of a CD promo. Plus I was also very keen on speaking to the professionals and getting advice from them as to what step to take next.
First of all the course did not follow the time schedule arranged. The 2 day course from 10am to 5pm lasted only from 10am to 1pm. First day we were told to learn a script from 25 pages that we were made to print at home before even arriving at the course to then choose only 6 of them, we practiced them, the teacher was very good with letting you know which ones suited you and how to make everything more dramatized and bigger than usual. Then the 2nd day warmed our vocals again and recorded the demo, then we were sent home because their excuse was that they wanted to finalize the demos for us to be able to take them home that same day, we were not even allowed to stay in the class and watch how it was being done. Didn't learn much just how to dramatize my speech, no leaflets, no handouts, no useful information and when asked for a little information the teacher's answer would be 'no sorry we don't cover that'. So basically be very aware as the call themselves a school and they don't even have photocopying facilities. And when looking for the building do not expect an Academy, it's an old building like a council estate called 'The St Pancras Church', absolutely freezing and not that I mind but I didn't recall any health and safety forms to be filled in by any of the students on the course.

I thought the teachers were very stingy, did not really want to give any information out at all, as on the website they say they have loads of contacts and clients they work with but when it comes to the real deal they had nothing for us.

Not happy at all with the course, I do not recommend it. Be very careful with these voice over courses. Best bet is to find one through the government. Much cheaper and you know they safe. Even try City Link in London. Got courses for £40 lasting 4 or more weeks covering every part of the Voice Over World.
