I just wanted to warn anyone who was thinking of attending an event hosted by the Singles Dining Club of Great Britain to be aware. This is a fraudulant company! Both myself and a friend registered and paid £62 via Paypal to go to an event last September, on Saturday 26th. When we hadn't heard anything on the Thursday 24th, I emailed the 'info' address at the singles dining club website. They emailed back informing me that the event was cancelled, and I could expect a refund in a few days. Suffice to say, since then, neither myself or my friend have received a refund, despite numerous voicemails, emails and now, finally the threat of legal action. In frustration, I called up some of the other restaurants that were due to host events, or apparently had done so in the past, and was informed that they'd never heard of this organisation. Therefore I can only assume that we've been deliberately mislead, and our money was knowingly taken, even though no event had been booked.

I've reported the company to the Trading Standards team, who are going to start an investigation for illeagal action. However wanted to warn any others out there who may be tempted to pay for an event to steer clear!
