Got my credit dinged for a late payment on a mortgage. I was the cosigner (ex-wife was making all the payments) and it was the final payment. They wouldn't accept her payment because it did not match the amount on the coupon. Asked them to look into it and got a form letter denying my request to remove the late payment comment. I still have excellent credit in spite of them. Horrible communication. Stuck with this on my report for another four years. Will contact Trans Union et al and hope for the best. Thankfully I will never have to deal with them again.
